Food Combining: What [not] to eat together in the same meal?

Yikes! I've read too much on this stuff. More specifically, it's carbs vs. fat vs. protein. I've seen a lot of sources that encourage combination of carbs and protein in the same meal (but little to no fat). I've also heard that combining carbs and protein makes you fat somehow. I also heard that ea...

Colon Cleansing: Weight Loss? Benefits?

I've heard of this before and read some stuff about it recently. In summary, many resources say that we have lots of gunk in our colons that have been trapped there for years, deteriorated, petrified, etc. All this stuff is said to be the alleged cause of many problems, including inability to lose w...

I've read somewhere that the "oil" that is OLean sucks up lots of vitamins and other nutrients, and then you defecate it (vs. fat where it goes to your blood stream) along with those valuable nutrients. I used to take vitamins with a meal where I also eat those chips. I wonder if those chi...

HOW!!! the freak did you do that? I'm especially curious about the upper body and the lower abs... ABSolutely no trace of you being any bigger (that is, no stretch marks, no loose skin). It's as if you were fit from Day 1 (the day you were born). What did you [not] do? How did you eat? How did you w...

HIIT: Timing and sensations hours after it's done?

I'm fairly new to HIIT. I'm on second week on it. I also lift, early in the morning before going to work. In relation to lifting weights, when should I do HIIT? Before, after lifting, or somewhere in between? Does it matter? I read somewhere that you're not supposed to eat before you do it, and you ...

Cardio after lifting?

Some sources I've come across say that doing cardio after weight lifting will burn more fat, which I really want to do. Other sources don't recommend cardio after lifting because it causes muscle mass loss. Is cardio recommended or discouraged after weight training? If recommended, what intensity an...

Nothing. I personally enjoy the soreness. It's awesome especially when you're in bed trying to fall asleep. Stretching sore muscles feels good too.

You could probably try Tylenol, Advil, or Ibupfrofen to alleviate the pain, but I don't recommend it.

Green Tea (Decaf)

If we're talking about fat burning, is the decaf version really significantly less effective?

Splenda?

It's been out for at least 5 years already. It seems quite unpopular. Sodas seem to favor Equal and you hardly see Splenda packets at restaurants (only Panera offers it, that I've ever seen). Is it harmful eventually? Has there been any studies? I heard that it's bad because it's made from chlorine....

On the Bowflex, I was able to bench 210 total (105 each side). When I switched to the traditional equipment, I thought I was a big shot. 135 seemed so tough! I was ashamed and felt ripped off. I remember hearing from a commercial that you will lose the 30 or so pounds after 6 weeks. There's a plan i...

That was a very interesting article. I've seen many other sources recommend Fish/Flax oil and Omega-3. Those I never tried. I think I'll add those to shopping list. Also, I do microwave plastic containers and eat off them! And I use Degree deodorant that probably has parabeans. Two practices that I ...

Soreness: Weeks and Months After

If soreness means that you've worked out well, as I've read from another thread, then does it mean that you're hitting a plateau once the soreness goes away even you're still keeping up with your workout? Even when I increase the # of reps, # of sets, and/or weight load, I don't feel sore the day af...

WHAT!!!? Leg extensions for 1/2 an hour? and then the other leg for 2 hours AT HIGHER WEIGHT!!!? Who were their subjects? Robots? How is that possible? Is it even possible to do bench presses for 30 minutes straight even if you lifted 50% or less of your Max? Maybe 35-45 reps would be to failure for...
