 I'm with you on that for sure!

We talked and we're going to make the time in between coats of paint to work out. I've noticed that if I go 3 days the pain starts creeping back. Well it's been 3 days. I want to stop it before it gets bad enough to slow me down. So, I'm going to make the time. health and wellbeing is more important than a coat of paint. It'll just add an hour on to our progress but it's worth it to feel better.

Pain? Like physical pain? Because I can relate to that.

When I was going to 24 Hour Fitness I did something (this will sound like I'm soooo old) to ....hip (  ). doctor said it was most likely because of the elliptical machine since it "forces your body to go in a perfectly straight line, which our bodies are not created to do" (from her mouth), it must've put pressure of some sort on hip joint. I couldn't go up stairs with that leg (I could but not without severe pain, or limping up the stairs with that side of body), and I had a hard time sleeping on that side of body. Since I started exercising, I noticed a big difference in joint. I still have a hard time going up stairs with that side of body, but I can definately lay on that side of body without it hurting. I thought I had done permanent damage to joint, but it seems to be getting better as I workout more.

It's all a learning curve, because you realise that suddenly what you're trying to do to improve your life comes with risks, if you don't do it properly, or consider possibilities that might incur risk.

It amazes me when I see kids, trying to use some of the machines and using awful technique, because they don't ask and think they know. They know absolutely nothing some of them.

I saw a kid once, must have been about 12, no more than 13, trying to use an E-Z Bar, but when he tried to change the weight, he couldn't even remove one of the clips.

I just found it so funny. He learned the hard way  .

dad used to have an E-Z bar when I was younger. I remember thinking that he must've been really working out hard in order to put "dents" in the bar.

pain comes from fibromyagia. There's widespread muscle pain. If I keep working out and stretching, etc it really cuts the pain. I really notice it after about 3 days of not working out. It seems the more I work out the less muscle/tendon pain I have. So for me, the reprocutions (sp) from not working out are more than just putting on weight or feeling sluggish. It actually keeps the pain away. This is also why I have to take the workouts slowly and carefully, because muscles are prone to injury. I have to use less weight, more reps, more stretching than most people. progress, at least visible progress is very slow due to this. But it's worth it to feel better and then eventually look better.

ok this sucks!!! I still haven't gotten back into working out  I have a friend that is moving in to stay with me for a little while. In the craziness of that I haven't had time. Actually I know that it's own fault. I could MAKE time. Moving furniture, painting, reorganizing cupboards and shelves, yuck!! I've not had the determination to just do it. I can definately feel it. Starting to get sluggish again and that is sooooo bad!!!

There, I've confessed. Now maybe I'll do it

Get yourself back on track okay :).

You know you can do this and you know you deserve to do this. Commit to it and yourself as often as you're meant to. Be strong and know what you are able to do.

People like me will believe in you, but you MUST believe in yourself and continue to be good to yourself as much as you're supposed to. You're worth it and you know that and we all do too, so don't allow your head to get out of the zone okay :).

Keep putting in the effort and keep working toward a better you, because you deserve better quality of life and for every day you fail to put some effort in to change things, when you're supposed to, you let the Fibromyalgia have a small victory.

So keep your chin up, make the time for YOU and keep pushing and keep believing in yourself. You're a wonderful person and you deserve the happiness that comes from being physically well and able.

We all want this for you, because we all know what sort of person you are and how well you have become a valued part of the community and if you have any personali issues and concerns, PM me and we'll work things through okay :).

You have a life worth living, because you're a stellar Lady, so no more flimsy excuses or reasoning for missed chances to exert yourself and effect change, because you deserve to be the best you possible, but it comes with a physical price and you really CAN afford the cost involved :)

Good luck and take care yeah :).

Thanks Boss. You are always so kind :D

You're absolutely right. I know I keep making excuses beyond the point when I really didn't have time. I am feeling the effects more and more every day that goes by and I don't make the small effort to just go the ten feet out to gym. It's a terrible cycle to get more tired from not working out and feeling too tired to do it. I know this. I know I just need to push through the pain for a couple days to get back on track. On top of that I"ve been slipping a bit on eating. Not really bad, but enough to know I need to stop it.

I will get back on it, for sure. We are through the biggest work of getting friend moved in so now I have no excuse not to get back in there

I am going to get back on it tonight, pinky-swear :D

Argh! Haven't been doing squat for exercise (unless you count chasing around a 1 year old that just learned to walk/run last month)! Only been watching what I'm eating and making sure I'm not going over, at most, 2000 calories a day. Been for the most part keeping calorie intake at about 1500/day, but some days it goes to about 1700.

On an up-note...

Hmmm...how do I put this, When I was pregnant I went through stages of maternity pants (obviously). I had a couple of smaller maternity pants that I wore when I first started to show and could no longer fit into pre-preggers pants or size 16's, and I had a couple of larger maternity pants that I wore when I got closer to due date (I stayed in these pants well after daughter was born and it drove me nuts).

Last week, I noticed the "larger maternity pants" weren't fitting so well. I was constantly hiking them up (I honestly thought I had worn them so much I had just stretched them out). I was going through our closet one day and found 4 pairs of pants. 2 of them were "smaller maternity pants" that I hadn't seen since I was about 4-5 months pregnant, goal, pre-preggers pants, and a pair of 16's I hadn't seen since freshman year of college 6 years ago.
First, I thought I would try on pre-preggers pants, just to see how they did, or did not, fit. I was shocked to see I could get them up, just not buttoned (when I first started coming to this site, I couldn't even get them up past thighs). Soon, I thought, they will be "Standing pants"...pants I wear when I don't have to sit down. LOL

Secondly, I figured if could get pre-preggers pants UP where they belong on hips, I should have no problem with the smaller maternity pants. I tried them on and was so happy to see that I was going down in pant size. So, even though I am STILL in maternity pants, they're the smaller sized maternity pants with a smaller waist band. The larger ones have since been donated to GoodWill since I do not plan on being back in them any time soon.

The 16's fit, no elastic waist band, and I am able to button them up without problem. They're a little tight in the hip area, but not so much that they are uncomfortable.

So even though I haven't been working out as much as I'd like to, eating better, keeping an eye on calorie intake and NOT binging on everything I see in sight is helping a little.

I'm so close to being able to wear only size 16 pants that bf is really trying to motivate me to get butt back into it so I can be in more of those pants and completely out of maternity pants by the US Thanksgiving time. I have exactly 1 month from today. birthday is the day before Thanksgiving...it will be a great birthday gift to myself to be out of maternity pants by then.

That is so fantastic!!! I think that chasing toddlers should be considered cardio  You're going to be running bent over now for the next 3 years, which is no small feat. It's wonderful to hear that even though you're not able to work out as you'd like that you're still focusing on being more healthy and having it pay off. Good job!!!

  I have some of these!! lol!!
Keep it up girl, you are doing fantastic! Putting on a pair of previously too tight pants, and having them easily go up and fasten is one of those "greatest feelings" kind of moments! :D
And yes, running after a 1 year old is def. considered cardio. son started walking around 11 months, and for the next 2 years all I did was run behind him with arms outstretched - trying to think one step ahead of him! It is exhausting!

Update*

It took me a few days later than Thanksgiving to get into size 16 pants that I was aiming to fit into, but I have done it. Still in smallest maternity pants only because money is tight right now, and I only have so many size 16 pants to wear, so the smaller maternity pants is just another pair of pants to be able to wear. I can still wear the medium size pants, but not without hiking them every 2 minutes, so I am not wearing them. I have also noticed other clothes starting to get looser, yoga pants are one. I couldn't wear these in a while because they were so tight (I bought them years ago), they are not much more comfortable and also getting baggier.

Weather was bad the week of Thanksgiving, so I couldn't get out to do walk, so I used Denise Austin workout DVD and 8 minute "Power" Tae Bo videos to get some sort of workout in. I was pretty proud of myself on Thanksgiving as well...I paid attention to body and didn't over-eat.

Last week, bf bought me Jillian Michael's Burn Fat Boost Metabolism dvd. I started doing that video yesterday, and man it kicked butt! I was only able to get through 20 minutes of it before I curled up on the floor in a fetal position and cried (lol--I'm kidding about that ;) ). I also have been trying some new exercise ideas. On down time (or active rest days) I have been assigning exercises to each room of the apartment, so whenever I go into the bedroom, for whatever reason, I have to do 12 reps of biceps, triceps and shoulders. If I go into the bathroom, I do 12 reps of push ups (Weird place to do them I know) using the sink counter...I place heals against the opposite wall and lower and raise myself in a push up using the sink counter (lol). Kitchen is for squats and leg lifts (12 reps). Whenever I go into the living room I have to either jump rope, jumping-jacks, jog in place for 1 minute (or longer if I can push myself...I'm also thinking of adding the bur-pee exercise into this part), when I am done doing this and want to sit down I have to do 12 reps of some sort of ab workout (I alternate between crunches, reverse crunches, obliques, and bicycle). I'm also trying some of the exercises at bodyrock.tv (which killed me) by Zuzana.

Yup, so that's what I have been up to since I last posted. :)

Oh...and really weird...clothes, as I stated above, are getting looser, but weight number is not going down. :?: :?: :?: Losing fat, and gaining muscle maybe? I thought that was weird that the scale number isn't going down.
