I worked on a four day split for a while and it worked well for me you may want to give it a shot. I did lower body and shoulders on monday and thursday, and upper body on tuesday and friday. Why would this be any different for your abs?I have to rest muscles for at least 48 hours before targeting the same the muscle again so that's what I am doing alternating between different muscles.

keep lifting heavy, keep your calories clean, just up your cardio. you shouldnt lose too much of your gains this way.

Work your whole body three days a week using strength building exercises. Dead lifts, Squats, and bench press are awesome for strength. Abs are all about diet, and working your whole body three days a week will strengthen your abs. Gaining mass has to do with applying greater amounts of stress on your muscles so they can grow to accomodate the load. if you dont continue to stress your muscles they will not continue to grow, they will only get big enough to handle the stress they are given. Try working your whole body three days a week and High intensity cardio on your non-lifting days. That looks pretty solid. im going to switch to an upper lower split in a few weeks and that is something like what i have planned. it should work out just fine.
