im a 19 year old college student who two years ago weighed 265 pounds and now weigh 195 pounds with just better diet and more exercise. I lift about 5-6 days a week but very little cardio due to the weather. i work out at home using all dumbbells and resistance bands. i feel like i hit a plateau, i feel myself looking bigger and feeling stronger but cant get rid of the rest of that fat. diet consists of majority of protein, fruits and vegetables. being a college student, i cant eat 6 meals a day at about 2 1/2 hours within eachother.. im actually lucky to eat anything by 315 most days. i know this isnt very good for body, but i need other ideas of what i can do.. anyone with suggestions and tips do not hesitate to reply
There really isnt anything else you can do. you need to eat breakfast and lunch and snacks everyday to keep your metabolism up and to keep burning fat. your going to need the cardio but i understand about the weather. You are in college, doesnt your college have a fitness center of some sort that you could use? If not, or that isnt possible, you could try walking to classes, walk a little faster than normal speed. you just need to keep pushing yourself a little more everytime you work out. you may have hit a plateau if your using the same amount of weight with the dumbbells and bands. may be time to add another band or heavier dumbbells. lifting heavy will do wonders for burning fat but only if your diet is right. Try getting some instant stuff that you can eat on the run, granola bars, things like that at least for breakfast. if you have some time between classes you should have time to eat a can of tuna or canned chicken. just make sure your packing some minty gum. Any questions, dont hesitate to ask, good luck.
thanks for the quick response. So all work outs i should try more weight for everything? and college does have a fitness center but i have no time to get to it. i do work out at home though as i said. what would be a good calorie intake for me doing all of this
You should always be trying to lift more weight. Your not going to keep progressing if you keep doing the same thing.
Definition of fitness insanity= "Doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results". Not sure who said it but it sure makes sense.
If you really want to make a change your going to have to do someting different. You might have to make time for the fitness center and your going to have to start eating before 3:15 where there is a will there is a way buddy.
