Meal Plan Advice for a sweet lil Grandma
Hi everyone, Here's the deal. I've come back to house where I live with grandmother and mother. grandmother, who has FTD and alzheimers, is taken care of by mother and hired caretakers. You would think they would know a bit about giving their patients healthy food, but I've come back to an absolute ...

Re: New to Diets and need help with a workout plan
Try not to look at losing weight as dieting. To diet usually signifies a temporary change and is very off-putting when you don't see immediate results. Try taking small steps to make healthy choices all of the time. But in order to help you with that, what do you typically eat and how often? As for ...

Re: water in heart
Like Amatlack said, there is no way for water to get into your heart unless your esophagus somehow managed to reroute itself. Also impossible. So don't worry about that :P And I completely agree about trying room temp water. As for not losing any inches. Since you've just started a new job, the simp...

Re: Tips for a new Vegetarian
Thanks for the suggestions! I actually eat an atrocious amount of quinoa. I did not know about the Whole Foods deli counter though. I don't always head over there, but I will definitely check it out.

Re: Lif's Journal
Woo! It's been a while. I can now officially say I've lived through a giant blizzard. And nearly lost it in the process. Who knew getting to the gym in a blizzard would be mildly entertaining? I'm not sure if I mentioned this in last post, but I've been going meat-less since Jan 1st. And I could not...

Re: Carbohydrates
Going along with what Brentyboy said, if you could elaborate on what exactly your goals are and what you're eating it'll be a bit easier for us to help you out. As for neutralizing your carbs, you can work out and burn them off but there's no magic that makes what you eat just dissipate if you decid...

Hah I'll venture out to Whole Foods to try that stuff. I'm a big fan of MorningStar. Are they similar?

Tips for a new Vegetarian
As of the first, I'm trying out life without meat. I'm still drinking milk and will most likely still have eggs. I eat a lot of tofu, but I'm curious as to if anyone has any other ways of spicing up the vegetarian diet. I'd love any ideas or tips.

Re: Creative ways to eat more protein
As for the cottage cheese, there are a couple things you can do with it. You can use it in place of yogurt in a shake to increase protein. Mix some frozen fruit, cottage cheese, and water (even throw in some protein powder, but pay attention to how many calories you're throwing in). You can also use...

Re: Lif's Journal
The holidays are over. :( I got back to apartment and had to make myself dinner for the first time in a while. I made quinoa with tofu, baby broccoli, some red bell pepper, and some carrots. And, since I've never actually made the quinoa that's been sitting in cupboard, I realized it is amazing. Qui...

Re: Lif's Journal
I haven't read too much about the specifications of the Challenge itself, of entering it, because I don't have the desire to use their products. I completely agree with you on the strange requirements of some challenges. But, if someone were new to fitness and/or planning out healthier meals, I thin...

Re: Lif's Journal
That's awesome! Congrats to her! It's one of the best programs I've seen for people to get started. It's simple to follow and explains everything for free on the website. It also doesn't advocate for any ridiculous measures to be taken in order to achieve a better body. And when you don't want to pl...

Re: Lif's Journal
It's been a little over a month and work ethic has gone doooown the drain. I've gained ten pounds and lost a good portion of dedication to working out. Mono aside, I let myself go a bit. Time to get back to work. On Monday, I'm starting the Body for Life challenge (though I'm not stopping after 12 w...
