benefits of regular physical activity

Post by Lucky885 »

1. Exercise improves your mood.

Need to blow off some steam after a stressful day? A workout at the gym or a brisk 30-minute walk can help you calm down.

Exercise stimulates various brain chemicals, which may leave you feeling happier and more relaxed than you were before you worked out. You'll also look better and feel better when you exercise regularly, which can boost your confidence and improve your self-esteem. Exercise even reduces feelings of depression and anxiety.
2. Exercise combats chronic diseases.

Worried about heart disease? Hoping to prevent osteoporosis? Regular exercise might be the ticket.

Regular exercise can help you prevent — or manage — high blood pressure. Your cholesterol will benefit, too. Regular exercise boosts high-density lipoprotein (HDL), or "good," cholesterol while decreasing low-density lipoprotein (LDL), or "bad," cholesterol. This one-two punch keeps your blood flowing smoothly by lowering the buildup of plaques in your arteries.

And there's more. Regular exercise can help you prevent type 2 diabetes, osteoporosis and certain types of cancer.

quoted from research paper on overtraining:

when utilized correctly, the benefits may include a loss of fat, muscle gains, and a better feeling about both the inside and outside of a person’s body. Simply an hour of activity per week can cause a decrease in the rates of heart disease and mortality; moreover, if a person does intense training for an hour and a half per week or moderate physical activity (i.e. walking) for two and a half hours a week, mortality can be delayed, there’s a smaller risk of contracting a chronic disease, and overall health will be improved (Let’s talk 8). Exercise plays a crucial role in living a healthy life because it can allow the creation of a longer, more prominent lifestyle. Simply obtaining the minimum amount of suggested exercise will yield vehement results. Results are the main reason why everyone steps into the gym, so it’s definitely a good thing that even a small amount of time spent exercising can lead to better health. Benefits of working out aren’t limited to physical bonuses but mental rewards as well. In fact, exercise has been found to have positive effects on self-esteem, mood, stress, and depression (Daley 122). Exercise has numerous positive effects on a lot of a person’s emotional characteristics. Through seeing results, people are enabled to feel better about themselves. Physical activity ameliorates a person’s body as well as their mind. With all of the positive aspects which exercise creates, it’s hard to truly recognize the potentially damaging aspects which it may also lead to.

That dude clearly didn't read post on Cholesterol, and is copying / pasting stuff by people, who still think it's acceptable to use the terms "good and "bad" Cholesterol.

Still it's the users perogative to use this site, for as little or as much education as they like

I could post notes from one of classes on the benefits of exercise....but that would be about 5 pages typed on a word document so noooooo. Just know that there is enough to back up any reasoning for doing it :)
