Bench Dip Substitution

Post by sparrow »

What would be a good substitution for this?
I want to hit triceps and bench dips have always done that.
But I'm unable to continue because of shoulder impingement.

I've been doing decline DB presses.
Someone told me that this is a good alternative to the bench dips.
True?

If yes, neutral grip or overhand or?

if you've got shoulder impingement than you shouldn't be doing any shoulder/bench presses or overhead tricep work...your upper body days shouldd be consisting of row variations, push up variations, face pull variations and direct arm work

Thanks swanso, but would decline bench presses hit the triceps effectively?

no more than any opther bench press but as staed no pressing for you until impingement is fixed...try close push ups with feet elevated
