Happy New Year!!! I hope everybody started the new year with the right foot. I honestly was having a not so good new year's eve. After spending most of the day cleaning, I went out for a quick trip to the store to get a few things for our dinner party & got really sick. It wasn't that cold, but since I was a little sweaty... When I got home throat was sore, I felt chills & couldn't swallow. Finished fixing the house (about 30 min.), took 2 motrins & took a nap. Woke up dripped in sweat! Took a shower, got dressed & voila...felt better! I guess sexy clothes & high heel boots is cure :lol: :lol: We had a great time! At 11:00pm we all turned the music down & started to get things ready (traditions). Got the 12 grapes ready for each person, passports & suitcases ready (if you want to travel) :D & coins/rice/roses & candles for prosperity, health & love. I know what you think (we are crazy) :lol:, but it's tradition in our family, we believe it works & what the heck! you have a great time & faith! Nothing wrong with a little faith :wink:. Made list of resolutions. first priority is health. 5th was toned (abs/butt, etc) body :lol: :lol:. Had to have it on list :lol: Not going to lie, I ATE like crazy. The food was simply delicious, heavenly, a mouth watering sin :lol: :lol: . Gave in to temptation :oops:. But I think I burned at least 1/4 off while dancing & the next few calories...still burning! Today, stuffy nose, but feeling much better. I did full body workout w/ weights & 20 minutes interval running (in living room). It's too cold to do it outside. Later, kick boxing with kids. Tomorrow: will concentrate on abs & lots of cardio :D I wish you guys a Happy & Healthy New Year & may ALL YOUR DREAMS COME TRUE! Let's get those body transformations we want! :wink:

Wednesday 1/12/11: Due to snow, pretty much everything is closed...Yippee! I'm happy because I can get some of workout done completely. For the past 2 days, I haven't exercised much. Have been extremely busy. However, I got some cardio done (about 30-45 min). Today, I did upper body with abs. Did 3x20 triceps, biceps curls, chest fly, chest press, military press, bent over back rows, monutain climbers, clams, figure 8, superman, reg. crunches, bicycles & 2-40 sec. planks. Afterwards, I did a 6min. Hiit jumping. Had a good breakfast: protein shake w/ water right after workout & about 1hr later I had a big breakfast. Why? cause I had to "hike" way to the store :lol:. Anyways, ate: 2 scarmbled egg whites w/ peppers, mushrooms, 1 slice of Dak ham, 1/2 slice skim milk cheese & 1 whole wheat toast & 1/2 cup d. pepsi w/ lemon. I also had 1/2 cup oatmeal w/ cinnamon & 1 bottle of water. Snack: 1 cup of grapes & 1 piece of cheddar cheese Low fat & 1 bottle of water. At lunch, I did 10 min kickboxing video & fast walk (in place) for 10 min.. Ate grilled chicken w/ broccoli, peppers & tomatoes & 1 bottle of water w/ lemon. Snack: cheese w/ grapes & 1 bottle of water. For dinner: cooking whole wheat pasta w/ chicken, peppers, broccoli, mushrooms, zucchini & own homemade pasta sauce & side salad. Later: doing the hula hoop challenge on the Wii with kids. Probably also doing the dance revolution competition :D :D . Love this game! It's been a while....Let's see how I do. I used to be the best....Will see. I just wanna have some fun (since we're stuck indoors :( ). Oh well. If it continue snowing...I might just snow board or walk through it, that'll take care of lower body tomorrow :lol: :lol:

Sunday 1/23/11: I had a few minutes before I go to sleep, so I'm writing a quick note. Have been doing workouts. A little lighter than usuall due to lots of tests, soccer games, appointments, etc. Have been eating pretty clean. However, I'm suddenly having the munchies at night. Can't stop. I think is stress. Trying to find a way to get rid of that bad habit :lol:. Checked weight 2 days ago & I'm 124lbs. Not bad considering the late night snacks. Getting back to "hard" workouts on Monday...I hope :oops:. Today, I'm planning to rest and give body & brain a break :lol:. It has been on overdrive.... Anyways, will continue with journal on monday & will post some pictures soon.

Hey guys! Happy (late) Valentine's day to everyone! Many things happening at the same time. Life has gotten a little crazier. But, I'm still working out & eating pretty clean. Recent purchases: Fitness ball, yoga mat , ab rocket & new bands :D . You might think that some of these things weren't necessary, but believe me, they are put to good use. The mat, had to get one for ME. The old one is mainly used by the boys & you know what that means...UGLY. They use it for soccer tricks, workouts, watch TV...many things. new one is pretty, pink & CLEAN :lol:. The ball is great! New workouts+new routines=motivated me :D. Bands...nedded more resistance than the ones I have. Already noticing changes. Ab rocket...LOVE IT. Don't have to lay down on the floor. Just sit to watch TV & do all abs & obliques workout. It's great! Problem: need to hide away from kids...UGH! Once I start using it, they want to use it too :roll: (monkey see, monkey do :lol:). Since I have little time in the morning & I've been extremely tired, I do ONLY cardio in the morning & weights & Hiit in the evening. Hevn't had long walks at lunch time cause all the snow we were getting (now is the wind). However, they are predicting warm days ahead & guess what I'll be doing??? That's right! WALKING outdoors YIPPEE! Can't wait. weight is still 124lbs. but arms are a little smaller... chest too :( . Hubby not happy :(. I told him, you're greedy. You had them for more than 20 years, give back a break! :lol: Anyways....MEN...ok, most men. I've been switching up workouts. Instead of lower, cardio, upper, cardio, etc. I started doing full body, kick boxing, compound, plyometrics & Hiit & 2 days off. I also have been playing with carbs intake. Don't understand much, but cousin told me about doing low carbs for 3 days & regular carbs the next 3 with heavy lifting on those days. Honestly: complicated & confusing. Maybe cause I don't have enough energy, have headaches & bad mood. I need me some CARBS right now!!!! :evil: :lol: Hopefully, will post pictures soon. Hope you see a little difference. :D :D

Now I've seen a picture of that Abs rocket, I must confess, you've just bought a Deck Chair ha ha ha.

Good for the beach perhaps, but I suspect not as good for the Abs as maybe anticipaed. It just looks like a faddy contraption.

3/12/11: About to go out, but took a quick break to write on this journal. It's been very busy & have been dying to write about what I've been doing but once I take a shower at night I fall asleep. I even fell asleep in the toilet seat once :lol:. hubby had to wake me up :lol:. I've been workoing out with a little more intensity. Have been doing a little more weights and can see arms shrinking a bit. They were kind of fatty :( . "bat wings" have shrunk a bit too...YIPPEEE! Still trying to tighten those abs, but still having difficulties. Oh well, at least bat wings are looking better (focusing on the positive :wink: ). Eating...not going to lie, lately having too much of everything. Too much bread, too much chococlate, mochas, etc. But haven't gained too much. weight is 125lbs. I guess is because I do workout & I do Hiit program in the am & pm. If not, I'll be heavier :oops:. But I like the way body looks...not the abs, but everything else. glutes look tighter & firmer :D :D :D. Will post pictures by the end of the month cause I just strated a new routine. Hope it works! Yesterday was VERY hard. NO chocolate, mochas & no rice :( . Only oatmeal & 1 whole wheat slice of bread :cry: . But I'm getting the hang of it again. Very proud of myself. Well, have to go. Will write soon.... By the way, Boss...very funny about the deck chair LOL! But honestly, it's been working for me. I can feel it in lower abs mostly & obliques. It's a great chair too :lol:

Hey guys, I'm back! It's been so long I forgot password when login in :lol: :oops: . I've been extremely busy with school, kids, family drama... First, we went on vacation & when we came back son had an "aha!" moment. Not a happy one for us. He wants to move out of the house & live with his girlfriend (who lives in south america, doesn't have a job & who's main goal is to be a model :shock:). hubby is furious. I am too, but i don't show it cause son is the kind of person who likes to go against peoples wishes. (Playing psychology with him & it's working :twisted:) His deadline was June 2011 & he extended the deadline to December :lol:. ( youngest is doing VERY good in school) & most importantly, Me...Im finally graduating! Im so excited! I'm also doing good with weight despite all the stress going on. I'm at 127lbs., but arms are more toned & hubby says legs & glutes are "tight & big" :D :D :lol: . Love those comments, specially from him. Will post some pictures soon. Just trying to nip one problem at a time :wink: . meals are pretty good. I'm messing up at night cause i get the "sweet tooth" & start eating things like chocolate ice cream or fruits... Thank you for writing on journal & not forgetting about me. Love you guys! musculargirl... I miss you guys too! I hope you are doing great with your journey. beachbodyabs...will check out the video soon. abs are not looking exactly like I dream of, but the are getting there...slowly but surely (more slowly :lol: ). But I'm giving it all!!! Thanks guys!!!

CONGRATULATIONS on graduating, that is brilliant. You should be very, very proud of yourself and managing to still find the time to workout and manage two kids and a house.

I'm really happy for you, especially remembering the very difficult past you have had. It makes me really proud of someone like you. Always persisting, never giving up and despite everything, totally human, a Lady through and through and a really stellar person as well.

What a beautiful example to others, of how to bounce back from difficult things in life and achieve more than perhaps might have been hoped for.

WELL DONE, you are a seriously amazing Lady :).

8/25/11: I'm embarrased to admit I Haven't been able to keep up with journals :( (I also have a private one). Too many things going on at once. Ok, lets start with personal stuff. I finally gradutaed, Yippee!! Felt awesome to wear a cap & gown at age & have kids, hubby & family at the ceremony (tearjerker moment). But it was pure pride & happiness. Ate like a pig (no kidding!) but I dance those calories off & some :lol:. OMG! We had a blast. As a graduation & anniversary gift, hubby took me to las vegas. It was hot as hell (literally), around 105 dgress. But we had a great time. Shows & food was expensive, but we found ways to eat good, have a good time without making a big hole in our pockets. Confession: pina coladas (virgin) were to die for & they were free!! I had about 3/day with wipped cream :oops: :D . We also did the all day buffet once (it was cheaper & filling compared to other offers). However, I went to the gym EVERY single day for 1 1/2 hours. Guess who went with me?? HUBBY!!! Can you believe it? He worked 30 minutes (give or take). Honestly...he worked maybe 15-20 minutes :lol:. But at least he did & I was proud of that. We stayed 4 nights 5 days (slept 3 hrs each day?) But still tried to burn everything I ate or drank. I dont drink alcohol, but between the pina coladas, the moch lattes, the hot chocolate & shakes...Lord have mercy!!! I thought I was going to gain weight, but I didn't :shock:. In fact, I was 127 when i left, I came back with 125lbs (should go back!!!). Kidding! I believe it was the tons of water I drank, the workouts, the sweating, the loooong walks & the swimming sessions with hubby (the honeymoon too :lol:). It was fantastic!! Since then, I've maintained 125lbs & got back to eating 6 meals a day (sometimes 7) & have been doing 4sets 15reps burpees w/ 8lbs rows & 10 sec jump rope in between. Also 1min plank, 100 squats & 100 mountain climber. At noon, I walk for 1/2 hour after eating lunch (to burn the calories :wink:) & at dinner, I'v been running 1 mile & walking 1. Unless I feel tired, then I just walk. Messing up with fruits cause I eat them at any time. But getting back to "cleaner" diet on monday. Sorry, I need a few days to prepare myself mentally :lol: :lol:. Will let you know how it goes. Wish me luck!!

So nice to see you back Mami! Las Vegas sounds like so much fun! I'm not a drinker, don't drink at all actually but that pina colada sounds so good! Now that sound's yummy! :lol: And it's free can't beat it. :D You make me want to go out there. :D :D

Your doing so good at exercising and maintaining your weight, good for you! Nice to see your enjoyable to read comments back on the forum. Good luck on the cleaner diet starting monday. :D :D
