Help Needed

Post by FitStacy »

Hi All,
I am determined to get a bit fitter in the New Year (and hopefully lose some weight :)) I have been trawling the web to look for online programs, it seems that the most popular are weight watchers and e-diets, I also came across a new one called iwantrealresults, does anyone have any experience on online programs? Are they effective?

Have a Great New Year Everyone :D

You should consult with a personal trainer. They are very helpful and you can find a good one for cheap. At gym the personal trainers give free consultations and they are extremely informative. Work with one for a week and you'll be able to figure the rest out for yourself. Also check this out http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/newyearsguide.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; This site has everything! Navigate around it and you'll find everything you're looking for. do you have a gym membership or are you planning on doing this at home?
Cheers :D

I dont' speak from experience, just common sense :).

I'd politely say, don't waste your time Stacy. Most of those on-line programmes are based around restrictiveness, stupidity or at best some kind of points system, that isn't always a good mainsaty for weight gain prohibition, so you stop doing the programme and struggle a bit to maintain results.

Some also vilify perfectly good foods like Potato, Pasta, Rice, Bread etc, which have good nutrition, because they are laden with Carbs, instead of espousing moderation instead, which I don't like, because there's a world of difference between some Spaghetti and some Cake.

The best thing you can do, is to stick with us. Not because I'm biased, but because I know we can help to give results, that a lot of so-called diet plans / regimes promote, with asthaetic claims backed with little to moderate substance. It's easy to hype up something average, but in the end something average is just that, hype or no hype.

We can give you honest, no B.S. feeback, which is not based on potentially ficticious, made up testimonials and we almost certainly won't tell you never to eat Bread or Rice, never eat more than 1,200 calories a day, do morning Cardio without food and have different combinations of foods on different days, that looks like some kind of whacky but makes no sense.

Nor will we tell you to use things like Isagenix, or pills that might possibly cause Heart attacks mess your Thyroid up, or at best waste your time and money :P.

Good luck whatever you choose to do, but remember that if you want us to be, we WILL be here for you and we will try within our individual limitations, to look out for you and support you all the way :).

Take care and best wishes and I hope you might become a regular here :).

I think the personal trainer advice is very good. There is a free option at bodyrock.tv if you have the discipline to do it at home as well. Zuzanna Light runs the website, she is a great trainer and has a workout schedule you can follow week-by-week, or you can peruse the archives and find your favourites. There are posts by bodyrockers, recipes, an eating guide, and a lot of motivational videos and stories. Check it out if you can, and good luck on your quest for a healthier new year :)

Hahaha! They always play that song at gym too.
