Obliques

Re: Obliques
you need to pick a spot on the ceiling and keep looking at that so that your neck stays in line with your spine - you're using your neck to pull yourself up, not your abs/core - you need to focus on those muscles and keep your neck relaxed - the strength should come from your mid section.
Re: Obliques
thanks dude, your advice is very helpful, i'll start using it because neck is really strained

Re: Obliques
Obliques are a rotary muscle group and are best trained that way. Try doing Russian twists while sitting on a decline bench at 45% or a Swiss balance ball with a med ball in hand. Chopping motions with a medicine ball or truck twists with a resistance band (think 2 handed forehand and backhand swings) are also excellent.

Re: Obliques
i disagree, they can rotate bit it doesn't mean they should
the core is best trained for anti-rotation

Re: Obliques
Side planks may be a good alternative. It's stationary but it shouldn't put any strain on your neck.
