So cool!!! I have to admit I never really knew what those foam rollers you've mentioned in the past were used for :? I don't think I have extension problems but I'll defintely get a foam roller and do these. Should I do some of the other ones too?

spine is especially straight, doctors have told me that entire life. Do you think that could create problems for me?

**EDIT** Just ordered a Go Fit Foam Roller with a DVD, plus a book about Core Development. Just in case you hadn't noticed I'm an avid reader, I have so many books and magazines on fitness I could open own store!

I have one of those GoFit Foam Rollers. Received it as a gift. I haven't used it much, but can see that it might help alot with core strength. In fact the pictures on the front of the box show the guy doing front and side planks using the roller!
I'm wondering if it could help allieviate some of sciatic pain that runs down the back of left glute and hamstrings?
I think you will enjoy it Lu, I'm gonna get mine out and start using it again. :D

Based on the video and what I read about it when I bought it on Amazon, it sounds like it'll almost anything! :) Not sure about the sciatic nerve - ack! That's no fun :(

body has been hurting everywhere for months - workouts may not show it but I really do push myself and it takes a toll - hopefully building muscle!

Now we'll need to compare our foam roller activities! Good luck!

if you can't get your aerms 180 degrees above your head without pain then you do have extension problems

Today's Workout

Treadmill, 20 minutes - 4 @ 3.5 mph, then 4 intervals at 6.8 mph, 4 @ 2.5 mph - finished with the rest at 3.7 mph

Prone Planks 1 @ 45 secs, 2 @ 30 secs
Side Planks 2 @ 30 secs x 2 - yeah! Increased 15 secs!

Supine Bridges 2 x 10 holding for 15 secs

DEAD LIFTS 135 lbs! 2 x 5, but then 140 lbs 1 x 5!!! I was soooo excited! I feel form is still good and adding weights shouldn't be a problem!
Swanso? I know you love deads, but I shouldn't do them 3 x per week, right? I should be switching them out with weighted squats etc?

3 x 10 Sumo Squats (during rests  )

Incline Flyes 12.5 lb DB's, 2 x 10 paired with DB Presses 20 lb DB's 2 x 10

Single Arm Rows 45 lb DB's 3 x 5 x 2 Paired with
Chin Ups - 3 x 5 (12 assist)

Finished with 20 lunges out the door! :)

Hi Bonnie - I took yesterday off and only did 4 intervals today - since I've been helping friend I've been combining a bit of Cardio with weights - also trying to work on those damn thighs

I thought I should have done deads before the planks (boy, those wear you out!) but didn't seem to be a problem. No issue after HIIT. biggest problem is not the weight I'm lifting but me making sure form is correct - very careful not to hurt myself. Do you think it's too much for one day?

Talked to a guy who assists in coordinating and outfitting home gyms today. He's sending me some proposals based on our conversation. I have about 800 square feet available. It's very exciting!

I almost forgot - I start Yoga tonight! Maybe HIIT, Deads and Yoga might be a bit too much

Your asking the wrong person, though I'll admit, the hardest part of this whole thing, is having to REST..however it is important.Otherwise Id still be overloading myself

deads 1/week is enough...

i wouldn;lt say it was too much but your order of exercises needs work...i would have done:

brideg paired with deads paired with planks

chin ups paired with db presses

sumo squats paired with sa row

intervals

got rid of flies

Hard to put this together at gym. It's one thing lifting in the boys room, another laying down and doing bridges, planks would be ok, but still not easy - space is an issue. The rest can be accomplished - why no flyes?

Yoga Night

OMG!!! Imagine 1 1/2 hours doing planks! THAT's what Yoga night was like! In the class title "Active Yoga" ACTIVE is the operative word! This is what I need so I will stick it out, but it'll be a wonder if I can just get out of bed in the morning! Why couldn't I have joined a "beginners" class - this is definately advanced~!

all 3 could be done in the one space

flies are no good (light wt, isolation exercises, no real work application)

"Boys Room" is what someone else here called it, personally I agree with you Bonnie :) It's is kinda cute though

Swanso - I have to admit what I like best about the flyes are how it makes muscles look while I'm doing them...it's cool 8)

The best news about today is I was able to get out of bed!! Off on the boat today, may be one of the last really good days, need to get in as much as I can before the summer season is over.

I think I deserve a day off from exerise after yesterday!

Enjoy your day!

Oh, well have a great voyage then :)..Hmm I went to a gym, when mine was closed, on weekends & was this big meathead, bulky guy on the squat rack, took forever for him to finish his workout, cos everything had to be loud & pronounced so everyone had to pay attention to the tool.Is good thing he finished up, just as I needed it, cos I sure woulda not been shy to ask " Are u almost done ?? " Though admittedly he was the only man in the gym like that, so at least most r ok.Enjoy ur day off & have fun :D

The guys at gym are great! I in no way feel out of place - I've always been "one of the guys" anyway!

The beach is great! Maybe I'll go for a walk!
