Clueless about cereal/oatmeal.

Post by thekid24 »

Okay, being filipino, I've never EVER had anything else as a carb source for breakfast other than RICE. I know, RICE ain't that bad for you but I wanna try cereal/oatmeal for a change. I'm not taking them solely, I'm also eating whole wheat bread and some veggies.

I know I haven't been to the forums in a long while but don't worry, I'm progressing :) But back to it, right now I have Kelloggs original corn flakes, which has for 1 1/4 cup, 110 calories, 0 fat, 2g sugar, 26g carbs, 2g of protein.

I'm switching to them just because, I'm trying to lean down a little for vacation :) I've bulked up quite a bit and now just busting for the 15 days before flight. Also, I'll be using 2% skim milk.

Cardio wise, I'll be doing two a day, AM and PM, with weights.

Anyways, that's it. I'm clueless about this stuff as like I said, never been a fan. Thanks y'all.

Or just stick to oatmeal. I think oatmeal is probably one of the greatest foods on earth but thats just me. :) Oatmeal and eggwhites mixed together is a great option for breakfast. I'm actually eating some as I type this. As for the corn flakes... Not the best option. Fiber one would be a good option if youre looking for cereal.

Toast is High GI. Frankly, if it's Whole-grain it's the same nutrition, but less digested as well, as it wouldn't be mixed in with Milk, or water like Cereals can be, which may reduce molecular density, potentially reducing digestion time, and give you more Protein, and Lactose Carbs to spike your Bloodsugar.

Though that molecular density thing would work better, with absorbable cereal forms like biscuit, as opposed to flake or strand cereals.

If you buttered the Toast, it could also significantly increase Digestion time, due to the added Fats, and dry Toast isn't as nice

I'd just have the Cereal anyway, or switch it for stuff like some Fruit, as an alternative instead. Veggies could work also, though some might find the concept of Veggies at Breakfast a little weird, but sod 'em, they'd get used to it :P

Or have a dissolvable Fibre supplement instead.
