Looking for some advise...

Post by Yakobpk »

Hi, first here's some stats.

5ft 9
141lbs

Since January I've been training in the gym 4 times a week for around 90 minutes. Usually Mon/tues/thurs/fri. I also hold a freerunning/Parkour class on some sundays.

I seperate days into Chest/triceps, Back/biceps, legs/shoulders then a day of variety.

I do Abs exercises every session and try to add different exercises every month.

I also do 20-25mins various cardio on each session.

Since January I went from 11st 2 to 10st1.

I'm now looking to loose a little bit more weight then pile on some muscle but I'm finding it hard to get any lower than 141 pounds. Do I really need to loose more weight? I have a flatish stomach, not defined.

Diet
I'm a Peskatarian (Dietary Requirement).
I get all of protein from high in-protein soya mince, chickpeas, Whey and various vegetables.. I eat vegetables everyday(broccoli/courgette/avacardo etc). Usually making own sort of soups. Sometimes I have some pasta/rice.

A usual day for me will consist of:
Breakfast:Oats with dried fruit/nuts sprinkle
Snack: cucumber and houmus or fruit or Tuna sandwich on brown bread
Lunch: Salad or home made soup
Dinner: Something packed with Veg and high in protein)

Am I going wrong anywhere?
If more information is needed then just ask :)

Do you eat fish? Eggs? Many Pescetarians (most) eat both fish and eggs and both are excellent sources of protein.

Yes I eat fish maybe once or twice a week but only Tuna from a can. SHould I try eating some fresh fish?
I've only started eating eggs too. I completely forgot about them!

Jack LaLane, the famous fitness guru, practically lived on tuna from the can. I'm a bit leary of that much fish as we now worry about mercury, lead, and other heavy metal poisons.

Eggs have recently been given a cleaner bill of health. One whole egg scrambled with 2 egg whites makes a very reasonable omelet. The egg white has most of the protein.

You can scramble in egg whites with your oatmeal and it will cook up while the oatmeal is cooking. Use a good slow cook oat meal like McCann's (but any steel cut oatmeal will be good).

Milk products and soy products have good levels of protein. Jello is high in incomplete protein, but if you take it with dairy products it will be usable.

Keep your protein at 30% of your diet, and keep your fats under 15% and you will show some gains (provided you are working out).

NOTE: I am not the nutrition expert in these forums and someone will likely come and correct any errors I have posted. But Jack LaLanne was for real.

At 141lbs i would suggest just focusing on adding muscle. I like the stronglifts 5x5 program myself but if you look up chad waterbury he has some good programs also. Try full body workouts, they are much more effective for what you are trying to do.
