Is this enough Cardio

Post by Nokie173 »

Hey guys/gals…

I don’t know if I’m working out enough? Or at least have enough cardio?
At the moment, I am doing a full body work out on weight days…
Rest 2 days and cardio 2 days…. I was thinking of adding more cardio.

M – Weights
T– Cardio (HIIT) 20-25mins
W – Weights
Th – OFF ------ Thinking of adding another HIIT 20-25mins
F – Weights
S – Cardio (Kick Boxing) -45mins
S – OFF

It seems like I am NOT doing enough Cardio… Should I only have 1 day off on Sundays.
And do Cardio on Thursday? Another HIIT?? Since I only do that once a week?
Or should I just keep what I have because that is enough cardio??

Thank you all,

Nokie :D

You're doing fine. Don't workout 6 days straight, it might be a little overkill. What you're doing now is fine in opinion.

I think last week or so…. I was doing weights and this guy came up to me and asked if he can use bench...
of course I smiled and shared with him.
Long story short, we had a conversation about exercising.
It’s more like he was questioning workout routine, diet meals, etc…
He mentioned he was a personal trainer before and he always recommended his female clients to do cardio EVERDAY…
and at least an hour long!
He said… If I wanted to lose the weight, I should run.
Although he was impress with diets and workout schedule.
He even wanted to lift with me sometime.. LoL..
I don’t think I can spot him..
He looks like he can lift hella weights!

So… It just got me thinking of adding more cardio…
But since you said... it might be an overkill if I added anymore..
then I’ll keep what I have… Thanks! :D

USED to be a personal trainer, probably meant that he wasn;t much good or he'd be making enough cash to still be one

But point is.. I’m gonna stick to what I have and Not overdue workout before it burn myself out!

And Swanso… Always appreciate your honesty! :D :D :D Keep them coming!

Hi Nokie!

I'm doing weights M-W-F, HIIT Tu/Sat, but a steady cardio on Thursday - as you know I find it hard to stay away from the gym! :) That was what I was doing before the 28 day program anyway - now Swanso has us doing somewhat the same, but the steady cardio is optional. EDIT: Swanso's program is 3 days HIIT, the 1 day off is Cardio Optional - he is a slave driver and I didn't even notice! :):) I take Sunday off.

When I first started new lifestyle I did cardio everyday for 15 minutes initially, up to 30 minutes, and then worked with weights (mostly machines at the time) I have to admit I lost the majority of weight during that period, so if weight loss was the primary goal that's what I would do again. But you, like me, are in similar situations - we've lost the majority of our weight - and what you (we) are doing now is probably just right! If you can't stay away from the gym add a little steady cardio on one of your days off.

Have a great day!
Lu

Or he just got tired of dealing with fat out of shape pigs who expected miracles.

Or he found a much more attractive occupation.

Or...

What sort of personal trainer tells female clients to use treadmills every day for an hour?

I suspect the kind that like making fast bucks dishonestly that's why.

Yeah, he probably just moved to California, to escape all the husbands and boyfriends, who'd threatened to knock his block off, for shafting their chubby partners out of good money, with dud sounding advice

Gosh… I guess there are a lot of possibilities…. Why he moved….

OK…I wasn’t gonna bring this one up… but since I got all of your opinions…
I guess I can ask another one…. Right???

So… I was lifting weights again… I was doing bench press with 25lbs dumbbells.
Then… I felt a something biting me.. maybe a bug??
So, I stopped and went to the mirror and looked at arm to see a red mark was there…

So this guy next to me thought I went up there and looked to see if I had some “gunsâ€

Tell him you only date women.

Tell him he's a jerk.

Tell him that you are working on a program and in 16 weeks you will evaluate your progress. But you want to give the program a fair chance for success and you plan on going the full 16 weeks.

Tell him you have a limited window of time to workout in and you can just barely squeeze this program into that time space, and you don't mind him talking as long as it does not interfere with your training and as long as he does not expect any response from you.

(In other words, let him talk to a silent, but busy statue.)

I know how you feel, but just tell him you are not interested in talking, in whatever way is your style, and then he will be gone and you won't have to worry about him anymore! Maybe he will even stop going to your gym or start avoiding you! So much easier when they do that :o

Just tell him no disrespect intended, but I train in a limited timeframe, so I don't really have time to talk.

Tell him that you have a split personality disorder and that your second half likes to collect toe jam.

Quite weird and disgusting, but hey it works.

But the ole famous "Rejection Hotline" works too. They have one for here: 410-347-1488. Call it, it's pretty entertaining. Probably right on the money too. (Also at rejectionhotline.com -- you can get many numbers from almost every state!!)
