Lost 2.6 lbs this week, of course it was the weight I gained the week before - at least I'm going in the right direction now!

Great going Holly! Bossman is right! You've got a killer smile!

Boopster - can you come and push me a bit? :):)

Had a great workout today! Reached goal of 100lb dead lifts! While I was at it I did squats with 100 lbs (squat rack, not Smith) Resumed Bench Presses but only used 30 lb BB due to shoulder issue, and did with relative ease the squat/shoulder presses with 15lb DB's - Single Arm Rows still at 35 lbs - Stiff Legged dead lifts w/rows using 15lb DB's - could use heavier weights, but when combining with squat/shoulder presses - it's easier not to have to change the DB's. I think it'll be awhile before I can use more weight for shoulder presses :(

Just highlights above - not in any particular order - don't want Troy thinking I went way out of the box! :):)

P.S. I was congratulated this morning at the gym for gaining weight, I hadn't told them I lost it again. They just assumed it was muscle!
I hope so!

Food is tough - same stuff, different day! I hear you Holly! For me, it's too much! I have been trying to change up chicken, and cooking lean burgers, fish and pork chops to make it more interesting. I cooked some fresh green beans with a can of diced jalepeno tomatoes - yummy! I use the canned diced tomatoes for almost everything these days.....the burgers are great with grilled onions too! I bought some organic black bean soups, where husband and I share a can as a side dish to whatever meat or fish I cook with a salad and/or veggie. Not sure if that works for this program?? husband thought it was home made soup - and it was soooo easy!

Have a great week everyone!

Thanks Katie! I guess next deads goal should be 200 lbs! I know it's a reachable goal now that I am doing them right!!! What a difference once you get it down the way they are suppose to be done with the right form and posture. You think 10 lbs a week increase or do you think more is ok - I don't want to push myself too much, but then I don't want to hold myself back either. Have you found a comfortable schedule?

Yes - Swanso is good - it's a love/hate relationship! I love him when body changes - I hate him when I ache all over!

Love your spunk Holly! It's very exciting to see progress of any kind - and for us gals especially, muscles are pretty neat!

A guy who works out at gym and works with son told him one morning - "I saw your mother at the gym this morning, she was lifting more than I can! " Ha!! It was fun to hear that from son! But I'm still a newbie - I've got a long way to go!

I can't imagine dead lifting 200 lbs, but that's new goal! Thanks Katie!

P.S. I remember someone saying way back that they were intimidated going into the "boys" area - I'm proud to say I was one of 5 women in that "boys" area this morning - I think we've taken over :):) That or they just don't get up that early :)

I hate you this morning Swanso - body aches all over!! Just kidding of course - you know when to push me when I'm thinking about giving up! But this ol body hurts today!

Cardio will have to wait until later - need some down time - guess 100 lb deads, plus the squats pushed me over the edge....feels good/bad though! :):)

100 lb deads and squats .... Gosh....

Do you stretch Lu? It helps A LOT!!!!!!
(Not with cold muscle)

I also go to a sauna or steam room to help relax sore muscle….

Nothing wrong with the boys room. Actually I saw a big guy I know recently, training on his own in the Womens area, so I said what are you doing in there, you getting in touch with your feminine side?

He says, no just getting away from you and your dodgy training techniques :P.

Incidentally I do not do dodgy

I do stretch - apparently not enough - will work on that. I still haven't gone to the gym today for cardio - need to get off butt and go! I'll do some stretching first!

Bossman - you have such interesting posts

By the way - what area at the gym is "the womans area"?

I go to Planet Fitness - no thrills, just a gym. I have a spa at home, but always forget to use it! It's 106 degrees today(in the spa), might be a good idea to jump in an warm up poor sore muscles.

They just a have a small area for the women, jusrt because some women in gyms, don't like doing any weights with guys, some of whom drop stuff, make noises and sweat a lot.

So it's just a thing for them, so some of them aren't put off going.
