what should be the weight of dumbbells?

Post by dodo34342000 »

i have been training biceps and triceps with 3kg dumbbells for 5 months
3 days a week , 3 sets 20 reps , i got good results but lately i feel that 3kg has become so light like i am not carrying anything in hand so i was thinking of buying 5kg dumbbells but today i was reading the forums and there was someone training with 24kg dumbbells???

so all that training with the 3kg was nothing? and also the 5kg is nothing? was i deceiving myself all that time i am training and i am doing good?

what weight should i train with??

really depends on your self i would have thought need to be able to just manage to do 10 reps rest then 10 then rest then 10
i use 14kg dumb bells or 24kg on the long bar with 2 hands

as long as your steadily increasing the weight each week youll be fine.

you dont have to up the weight massively, just go for the smallest possible weight increase or progressive overload as its known.

also dont waste time doing really high reps/low weight do the opposite heavy weight/low reps.

and dont worry how much others can lift its all about what you can manage and see reults with.

Im only using 7kg dbs but i can only manage 12 reps with those so they work for me. Everyone is different.
