I had a baby 7 months ago, during the pregnancy i walked a lot at work.
I signed up for the gym 2 weeks ago, and I want to know what the BEST way to work way up from simple treadmill walking, to a good pace jog without dying out.

you need to challenge your body. If your just gonna walk on the treadmill then your body wont know what it is to jog. YOu might want to increase speed gradually until your body gets used to that speed and then move up and up and up. u know what I mean???? To prevent injury , good running shoes would be helpful, and proper form.
baby steps (excuse the pun) is the key. gradually work yourself up each week. just push yourself a little further each week (up the intensity) and you should be well on your way!
I agree with bossman. Start with some intervals. As you progress you will be able to hold the faster speed longer. Your cardiovascular system will improve the longer you do this. It takes time but you will improve. Also look at your form when you're running and see how it is. Your body should be largely relaxed and your core should be engaged.
