A lot of nutrients can be lost in canned food products. Nutrients can get saturated in the water, therefore when they water is thrown out, so do the nutrients. Yes, the sodium amount is generally higher as well. Personally, I prefer both the taste and the better quality of frozen or fresh veggies. Good luck.

Actually canned (and frozen) vegetables maintain more nutrients in the long run than fresh do. Nutrients are lost in fresh produce due to heat and sunlight during transportation , on grocery store shelves, and in the fridge.timelessness66 wrote:A lot of nutrients can be lost in canned food products. Canned and frozen are manufactured in such a way that these nutrients are preserved. By no means am I saying that fresh produce is not beneficial, but don't discount the benefits of other forms. Some is better than none. For those who have a history of hypertension or cardiac conditions, there is an alternative to fresh if it is not accessible.
