Still maintaining at 148 lbs. Thought I would post a "before / after" type of pic. The picture doesn't really show how much I've lost in inches - but I've gone from a size 14 to a size 10 (I even bought 1 pair of size 8 jeans ) I've gone from hiding in large tshirts, to wearing a medium tshirt with lots of room in it.
And get this....I actually TUCKED SHIRT IN the other day for work AND wore a belt!! Something I absolutely would not do before because I felt like it just made muffin top that much worse.
So, I am really happy with the results these past few months, and still have 3lbs to go to reach beginning goal. Ultimately I'd like to get down to 130-135. :D

I am living proof that changes can be made - it takes committment and consistancy - but mostly just the belief and confidence that it can be done. At whatever age you are. I'm 51 yrs. old with the metabolism of a drunk snail - but with perseverance and determination and PATIENCE I have made some progress for the 1st time in several years.
Don't ever give up! :D :D

Really see a difference Lynne. You look great!! Hope you are feeling better! You really do look a lot thinner. I'm not even sure if you need to lose any more weight but you know what's best for your body and fitness goals!!!

I especially love your arms. They really look toned!

I think the 130 goals is doable and when more muscle added to help burn more fat it's more than possible, even for your age and it's the sort of person I think you deserve to be which is strong, healthy and vibrant :).

 Thanks Joc!!

Weigh in: 145.8

I wish I could claim that all of that loss was from diet and exercise, but I can't.
I had surgery a week ago, and will be going thru some treatments in the next few months to address an issue that was found.
I know that all training and crossfitting has prepared me for what lies ahead. I am strong and determined and will face it all with the best attitude I can.
I don't really want to go into exactly what it is that is wrong with me. I prefer to stay positive and helpful to others here on Shapefit, not bring personal life and struggles into the mix.
So....rest assured, tho' I may not post as often, I will be checking in and reading posts and journals, keeping up with friends I've made on here, and as always encouraging newcomers as they begin their own journey's to health and fitness.
I would just like to say to anyone reading journal, or to anyone who is struggling with diet, food, working out, etc. that please, if you need encouragement, if you need help, keep reaching out to others. Shapefit forums and the people here are great and supportive. But in the end, it all comes down to you and what you are willing to do to make changes happen for real in your life.
I would say - don't waste another minute of your life, don't let another day go by making bad food choices, laying off of exercising.
Life can change in an instant, always live your life to the best you can, in your decisions about what you put in your body, about your attitude, and about your fitness. Life is too short, time passes too fast to waste a second of it on putting off what you could be doing today for your health.
There are so many things in this life we have no control over, so do something about the things you do have control over. If you know something is bad for you - don't' do it! Simple as that, it really is. You have a choice, you have the power to make changes in your life right now, today. Do it and never look back. Don't wake up one day and realize that the last 10 years have been a constant battle of gaining, losing, trying to get fit, trying to do this, do that. Make the decision today to stop that cycle and begin to embrace the strength you have inside to make the changes needed to stay on the right track.
Peace to all. :D :D

Lynne I totally respect your decision and I want to say that as one of the senior on-site staff, if you need to talk discreetly in private about anything, don't hesitate to get in touch with me, because you will be afforded the same privacy that you have always had just like all the other good members I've ever communicated with :).

You have unconditional strength throughout this time and whatever is happening, feel free to take as much as is needed without apology, worry or concern and when you're having some difficult moments now and then, you can remember that that strength is yours to access in a heartbeat okay :).

You're a wonderful Lady and I remain constantly proud of you for being you. You are an emotionally beautiful, touching and uniquely special person in your own way and I want you to know that I'm sure I speak for quite a few people, when I say we as a community are standing by you, no matter what and I hope you can overcome this situation as quickly as is humanly possible.

I'm sending you a BIG HUG and wishing you GOOD LUCK Lynne and don't worry about how much you comment on here, because you always manage to give a lot of your heart, by sometimes only needing to say a little and it's a beautiful part of your character and I want to say THANK YOU for every last bit of humanity you've shared since day one and we will repay this as a community, to show you how much we value you and how much you mean to us.

Be strong, chin up and best foot forward superwoman, because you're amazing and you should be proud of who you are, because you ARE worth it :).

You ROCK!!!

:) :) :)

Thanks everyone for your encouragement and support.
In the last few weeks I've taken some treatments that left me very weak and ill for the most part. But I'm fighting back the only way I know how.
son and I went for a walk today. We walked about 1/2 mile - that is a major accomplishment for me. It felt so good. I'm eating healthy, lots of lean protein, green leafy veggies, fruit smoothies.
weight is currently 138 lbs.

I hope everyone starts this new year off well - I wish everyone the best in everything you strive for.
Set a goal - go after it with dogged determination, don't let anyone (including yourself), or anything get in the way or stop you from achieving it.
If you make a promise - keep it. If you need help with something - ask for it. If you need to make amends with someone - do it.
Take time this year to love yourself enough to make the changes you need to make a better you for YOU.

diets and exercise programs are only tools to use to help create the you, you are meant to be. But the real change has to come from within. Inner strength and resolve is more important and useful than any fast weight loss diet - and we all have it within us. Sometimes it gets beaten down by life and circumstances that happen to us, but it is there if you look deep enough.

today was a day I didn't even want to get up - it took everything I had to pull myself up out of bed, get dressed and face the day. But I did it. And I will keep doing it, because in life you have to fight back at what gets thrown at you, and sometimes it can be pretty bad, life can hand you a real doozy, but you have to keep getting up, every time you are knocked down, keep fighting back with every ounce of strength you have.
Get up, get out and keep moving forward, keeping positive energy around you, positive thoughts inside of you. Every second of the day is about choices and decisions, we are only able to control so much, so for the things you can control - take hold and make it the best you can.

Wishing everyone a great 2014. :D
