Hey Chris, I would recommend running/jogging to drop weight quickly. Add a sauna or steam bath to really sweat it out and drop excess weight. I feel its just too stressful on your knee using the one-legged method. The last thing you want is to blow out your ACL and be sidelined for months :(

Stick with the basic barbell deadlift and you will build some quality muscle mass and your strength will soar!

I would personally not recommend the "one-legged" style. I would stick with the basic barbell deadlift which is amazing for working the overall body. Its one of the core exercises for adding mass to the quads, hamstrings and also works your back, arms and shoulders. Its truly a great movem...
