Diet and excercise help!!
I am 16 years old about 5foot 9 and need help. I started out about 180 and seemed pretty healthy, but as winter came i developed an eating disorder and began only to eat 1200 calories a day and i ran about 2.5 miles. body used muscle for energy and ate it all away leaving me at a low of 135 pounds and i look like a jew in the holocaust. I want to bulk up and get to about 170-180 and be thick and muscular. I need suggestions on what to eat, how to lift and stuff. I have now developed a bad habit of eating peanut butter half a jar at a time just for a snack or a crap load of nuts. im now getting like 3,500 calories a day....is peanut butter gonna make it all fat? i just dont know where to turn. please someone help me...thank you

The most important thing to work on is getting clean, nutritious food in your body every 3 hours. Stick with lean proteins (fish, chicken breast, turkey breast, egg whites), fibrous carbs (brocolli, mushrooms, squash) and whole wheat starches (brown rice, whole wheat pasta, whole wheat bread). Try to eat your starches earlier in the day and and make sure to get at least 30 grams of protein per meal. Stay far away from processed foods and simple sugars (table sugar) which are found in candies, cakes, pies, and pretty much all the junk food. You also want to stay clear of the sugar soda and friut juice. Stick with water and a few diet colas every now and then.
In terms of peanut butter, although the natural style (Laura Scudders, etc.) is much better for you, its still extremely high in fat and very calorie dense. Its kind of like potato chips in the respect that you can't only eat just one. I'm exactly the same way and if I have a tiny taste of peanut butter, the entire jar is gone! God, its tasty stuff
Your best course of action is to stay away from it and don't alow it inside your home (fridge, pantry, etc.). Treat these specific foods just like drugs. People have drugs of choice and yours is peanut butter. I person who is dealing with an addition to alcohol would never have a case of Budweiser chilling in his fridge. So treat it the same way.
If you want to have somehting sweet to eat, try frozen fruit. They are very sweet and have much fewer calories than other sweet foods (cake, candy bars, peanut butter). Its tough but try to sick on your plan and when you eat every 3 hours, you will feel like you always have something in your stomach, which will help you with bingeing on bad foods later.

I have seen that most of the problems of people who exercise are related to their diets, while it is always highlighted that exercising are one integral part in every humans life it should be also noted that this is serious stuff, so prior to initiating any form of exercising it always pays to first consult a doctor and next consult a dietitian remember that the body attributes are vastly different from person to person so while one person may be gaining by doing a certain set of exercises and going on certain foods does not mean another person would have the same effects. Always this thing should be kept in mind.
