Re: am I going to hard or what?
It sounds like you are seriously over-trained. From what I read according to your post after only one week of running you were/are doing six miles a day? Way too fast on progression if that is the case. When I was training for bootcamp I ran every other day. I did three miles one day. The next run w...

Re: Wide Grip Pullups progression
Brendan,
Sorry, I noticed I wasn't subscribed to this post and didn't know you replied.
Yes, tubing and resistance bands are very similar, sometimes an interchangeable term.
If you have a set with handles, loop it over the bar, and put your feet through the handles like stirrups.

Re: iron cross
Many certification, and training courses are explaining that the shearing force on the shoulder is exaggerated when you do a lateral raise with the elbows straight. That's one reason why so few people do them. Add to that, some trainers take everything they hear as gospel, and spread the word to avo...

Re: shoulder shrug help
Chris, When you're doing shrugs, whether it's with a barbell, dumbbells, or a machine, keep the elbows straight throughout the exercise (to minimize pulling with the biceps), keep your neck in a neutral posture (chin level), and focus on evenly pulling your shoulders up toward the BACK of your head....

Re: Need help with this
I'm not quite sure about what aspect you're referring to that would make it unhealthy. In any case, having a six pack, and maintaining it, for some people is quite a task. How you go about it can be healthy or unhealthy. In other words, if you are training correctly, and getting in enough healthful ...

Re: Wide Grip Pullups progression
Hi Brendan, Do you workout at a gym or at home? If you go to a gym that has a weight assisted pull up machine I would recommend you add 2 - 4 sets of assisted pull ups to your routine. If you don't have access to an assisted pull up machine you can accomplish the same effect using heavy resistance t...

Re: Working your muscles twice a day
Hi Skully, Since you have a primary goal of gaining weight/building muscle and noted on your profile you workout to look better I have to ask why do you want to train your muscle's twice in the same day? If it is to gain quicker it is not the way to do it. If you train intensely, one workout per day...
