A New Start

Post by danasummer »

Hi, well basically I want to loose the 12kg I gained by July! I was 52 kg 4 years ago and might weight crept up to 64. So question is ,is it doable within this time frame (2 month and 1/2)? I'll be going on a low carb diet but the only thing im worried about is falling back on the sweet stuff like chocolate and deserts (any recommendations to curb the chocolate appetite?)
Another question is: should i work out on an empty stomach in the morning if not what should i have? and how much cardio should i do to achieve this kind of weight loss and fat loss which is 48%!!!! Bearing in mind i hate the treadmill but prefer the elliptical.
Please help. Thanks guys

Hello and welcome to the site :D

For a starter, I don’t think you should do the low carb thing. Food is your friend… Junk food is your enemy… so get that straight! Learn how to eat healthy and eat everything in moderation. If you jump to low carb right away… then what will happen when you go back to your eating habit of wanting carbs again… you’ll gain some back. So, I say… have complex carbs, lean protein, good fat, lots of veggies and fruits.

As for exercising in the morning, I prefer NOT working out on an empty stomach. It will not give you enough energy to workout and it might cause dizziness. Have some fruits 30mins before work or have a protein shake. If you want to burn fat, you can do intervals on any machine… elliptical, treadmill, bike, etc… You go fast then slow, fast then slow. This will get your heart rate up and you will burn more calories... If you burn enough calories it will eventually burn fat.

Hope that helps a bit. :)

Really? Cuz im trying to limited carb intake to see results. And the problem is sticking to the plan and pulling myself out of bed to go to the gym!
With food biggest fall back is the sweet stuff more than the starchy refined foods.
To see results is 3xper week of cardio enough or up game?

Thanx :P

That’s why limiting carb would not be ideal for you to start with. Find something you can stick to and being consistent with it will help you tremendously!

You know…. If you just control yourself with sweets and starchy stuff… you will see results from that alone.

Yeah, cardio 3 times a week is ok… Later, try to adding some weights and resistance into your workout.
