Will this work?

Post by eastmatt »

Okay ive posted on this forum already about who i am, and what i do. So basicaly ive had 2 failed attempts of loosing weight already, i wouldnt say im over weight at all. just want to get in shape for holiday in september, and generaly to make me feel better as im depressed alot of the time.

old diet used to go as far as some days i would eat nothing but say 1 packet of crisps to the next day just indulging in fast food. To be honest i dont know why im not larger then i am, but anyways.

Ive decided on a new way of life.

To start of new diet plan goes like this (maily aiming for protine)

Breakfast: Beans and brown bread and sometimes a bowl of special K if i have a very busy day

Snack 1: 2 Pieces of fruit

Lunch: if im at work ill either have a turkey/chicken or tuna sandwich or if im at home ill cook some chicken or salmon to have in a salad.

Snack: 2 More fruit

Dinner: Grilled (in fat reducing grilling machine!) chicken or salmon with boiled veg (as i dont have a steamer)

And then usualy a protine shake on work out days.

Then when it comes to fitness!

I follow a 4 day a week work out plan that mate drew up for me (hes a fitness instructor)

But also i think i spend 1/4 of life on feet. if im not walking to work or to uni, i work in retail so out of the 9 hours im at work 8 of them are spent on feet!

I was just wondering if this sounds okay for to loose that bit of weight and get some shape into body at the same time. Any help would be most gratefull!

(The Beans and Bread works, but with the Cereal, add more Protein, like Chicken, Ham, Egg Whites etc.)

Snack 1: 2 Pieces of fruit

(Add more Protein here like a bif of Low fat Cheese, or Chicken. Turkey as examples.)

Lunch: if im at work ill either have a turkey/chicken or tuna sandwich or if im at home ill cook some chicken or salmon to have in a salad.

(Good choice)

Snack: 2 More fruit

(I would have something else here, like Carbs from Veggies, Low Fat Cheese, Peanuts, Cashews, Chestnuts, Whole-grain Bread, Legumes, as you don't need Fruit here I feel. With the Cheese, Legumes and Peanuts, they are good protein carriers too, so don't go overboard if you add some Protein into the mix as well.)

Dinner: Grilled (in fat reducing grilling machine!) chicken or salmon with boiled veg (as i dont have a steamer)

(I'd avoid having too much Fish in one day because of the Metals in them. Salmon is low Mercury, but you'd only really need to have about 100g, (3.5OZ), I feel, to get a worthwhile daily amount. As you're using alternatives like Chicken, I'd keep Salmon as your main Fish source and have it 4-7 days a week with just one meal, if you go for the 100g.

If you split the 100g into 2 x 50g per day, then add something like Mushrooms, Legumes, Lentils, Peas and Beans in there, to recover some protein, then make up the rest of the Carbs those foods provide, with things like Broccoli, Onions, Carrott etc etc.)

And then usualy a protine shake on work out days.

(If you have protein shakes, you can use Carbed ones, or go Carb free and add in things like Crushed Oats for Carbs and maybe a little Honey for taste purposes, same thing for tatse purposes with Vanilla Essence, ground Ginger, ground Nutmeg, or Cinnamon, when you mix with water, if you want to try and improve or avoid taste issues.

Don't bother mixing shakes with Milk as you'll increase Casein, viscocity, calories and Enzyme production, as you'll need the Lactase Enzyme to break down the Galactose part of the Lactose Dissaccharide, all things that could have potential to slow down absorption, which can be negated mixing with water.

The small payoff being the increased Insulin spike the Lactose will provide, which is good for assistance of Protein synthesis, but it's not worth adding Milk for that reason really.)
