Beginner needs help with gym routine
Just purchased a gym membership but personal training is extremely expensive and I am clueless when it comes to which machines, exercises and cardio to do. I am 21 years old, 5'4 and weight 121lbs. I eat and drink whatever I want but in moderation. I have always had a skinny body but I see its now catching up with me because I recently noticed "pouch" (stomach area) growing. Please help me with a gym routine and even diet/tips would be appreciated=) Thanks a bunch
Re: Beginner needs help with gym routine
basically you are skinny fat... no not an insult...
it depends what you want to do.. you wanna cut the pouch off?, and be skinny and bony, or do you wanna shed the fat, and and look healthy and in shape with muscle "tone"
Ill keep it where it should always be kept, basic......
to loose weight, the basic fact you should know is.. burn calories.. which means. move. and move alot,
since you are starting, hit the elliptical machine, or run (which ever you prefer), set it a decent pace, go for 15-20 mins (remember you just started)
then hit the weights, yes time to lift... right now for you, start with (again) the basics,
chest, Back, Legs, screw isolation work outs right now.
(once again you are a beginner)
Chest - 3 sets of incline press, 3 sets of flat bench, most gals dont like decline bench.. so go to the assisted Dip machine, 3 sets with that, all sets have 12 reps.
back - pull downs, Dead-lifts (yes i said this), Seated cable rows, once again - 3 sets each, 12 reps
legs - Squats , Leg Press, seated leg curls, seated calves, standing calves again 3 sets each 12reps
why? it will allow you to build a bit of muscle (no you wont get all bulky)
to those wonder why i said deadlift, its the ultimate body work out, and gals, you want a nice fuckin plump round ? Fuckin dead-lift baby!
now bare with me I know this is long, do 20 minute Cardio each day you work out, (lifting weights helps burn calories so the work out will help)
on your non work out days, Go for a 45 min to an hour on the cardio... (take sundays off, and lounge or go out.. a complete day away from the gym)
Now diet? cut the processed food out, cut the binge drinkin, sugar eating, tasty treats out!, they may tasty awesome.. but they go against all your work..
eat nice veggies, fruits, eat fish, lean red meats, chicken.. Water..... juices are just as bad as pop.. loaddss of sugar..
watch your carb intake.. more carbs in the morning.. less in the evening/night.. 7pm hits.. lower your carbs to a bare minimum.!
