Muscle gain has tailed off

Post by nav85uk »

Hi

Ive been strength training for a while now, and i got great results straight away but 24 mnths down the line and for the past couple of mnths i seems to have plateaued. I haven't gained anymore muscle mass. Is this cos i dont have enough calories in diet or something? because i increased diet in take vastly at the start to the point were i was eating 2 pieces of toast and now its 4.
Im struggling to eat more..lol

Any thoughts from people on why i have plateaued ?

Thanks
Naveed

Change up your routine at least from time to time, in the trained athlete this means at least every 2 weeks. Be careful not to over train too many sets or too many heavy workouts can be over doing it. Get plenty of rest at least 8 hours a night. Eat about 1.5 grams of protein per pound of body weight more is not needed you'll just store it as fat. Make sure you're having a post workout meal within an hour after exercise. It should be 4-1 carbs to protein and low in fat. You can add about 5 grams of creatine but not more.

Remember you will only gain as much mass as your genetics allows for. At some point its almost impossible to get bigger. This is determined by your natural testosterone release which in turn affects protein synthesis, your fast to slow twitch muscle fiber ratio and the length of your muscle bellies.
