Half an hour a day dancing any good?

Post by daisy07 »

Because I have just started, goals are relatively small. I was thinking for convenience and time saving, to do a workout at home for half an hour a day. I have no work out weights or anything at the moment. Apart from small hand weights.

I was thinking of doing something aerobic plus with a few lunges and stretches at home for half an hour a day every day to start. The aerobic part has me a bit puzzled as could I do "marching" and dancing movements? I know that sounded a bit feeble!! But better than no exercise at all right? I would greatly appreciate any tips for both aerobic and muscle training at home with no gym equipment. Plus also knowing this would be worth it (or not) would be a great motivator.

Much appreciated

A half an hour of dancing would be fine if it is a fast style of dancing. You can get yourself an exercise video you can do at home or create your own exercise circuit. Do a 5 minute warm-up of easy movement follow with push-ups (or knee push-ups), chair dips, dumbbell curls, kickbacks and shoulder presses. Add crunches, reverse crunches, planks, lunges, step-ups, leg lifts, kicks etc. Cool down and stretch. The key is pick 8 -10 exercises do them in a circuit fashion for 30 seconds each with minimal rest between exercises. Rest for 2 minutes between circuits. Try for 3 circuits.
