I always first advise folks to get a diet that's pretty constant before making any changes. If you're eating 2,000 one day and 3,500 the next it's going to be kind of tough to make a change without knowing that's normal first.

So the first thing is to get to the point where you are eating about the same types of foods in roughly the same quantity each day.

From there I suggest you cut back on the portions. So if you usualy have 2 sodas a day cut it down to one. If you have a foot long sub for lunch cut it down to a six inch. This way you won't have to deprive yourself of your favoritie foods (something I never recommend) but you can still lose weight because you are eating less :D

The other thing I recommend is to really get in touch with your hunger. I know lots of people who drop weight like a stone by refraining from eating until they are really and truly physically hungry.

as well as working on you food intake (if that needs working on), cardio training is inmportant as you need to burn calories and get the body moving.
use different machines to challenge the muscles differently ie rower, treadmill, bike ect
for the abs start on the basics first to build up some strength before trying more challenging exercises.
some examples for you
lye on back with knee bent and feet on the floor hand by our temples and crunch up until your upper back is lifted from the ground, keeping looking up at the ceiling and lower back down. this can be performed with both feet up in the air to make is tougher.
same position but as you crunch up twist the upper body moving the left elbow towards the righ knee the lower back down and repeat on the other side. again this can be done with both feet in the air
stability balls are good to use but can be challenging depanding on your body position when using them.
try these ones first and see how you go
hope this helps
