Sleeping issues getting worse

I. Just. Can't. Sleep. 8. Hours. Straight.

I am getting really tired. And I get all of these thoughts and flashes.

Since people started joining me to the gym, I've been worrying even more. They are 3 people who got motivated by me, but now I am the one suffering because of it. Why? I worry I won't make it on time to help them. I don't know what to do?

Nothing is helping me sleeping. No carbs, no protein, no fat, no meds, no reading, and no nothing.

I'm literally awake and AWARE half of the night.

Amna you MUST STOP WORRYING darlin. You just gotta stop. I know its hard... seems impossible even... but you really need to work on it. If helping others is preventing you from sleeping then maybe its time to take a step back and just worry about yourself for a while. You gotta take care of yourself first and foremost. I know its hard and it really is awesome that you want to help others but if its setting you back then you really should figure out another way to help them instead of letting it hold you back. Know what I mean? Did you try writing down whats bothering you? Are you supposed to meet them in the morning and you're afraid that you'll over sleep or something?

I think you should look into the meditation that the lovely ms matlack suggested. It really could help. If I don't have a clear mind, I cannot sleep. Period. I hate it ): It took me awhile to find something that worked for me, but I made it! Exercising helps me a lot. I tend to focus completely on muscles moving and the way body responds. I find that answers about things that are bugging me tend to sort themselves out when I'm so relaxed (mentally) like that, and it really does help me not to be so worried at night when it's time to turn off (:
I find it so hard to meditate. I tried, but it's so hard for me. brain never shuts up! I never have a clear mind. I have a lot of non-sense worries. gah! Exercising seems to be the reason WHY I CAN'T sleep.

I really wish I can somehow control worries. I really would like to simply blame it on university. Everytime it starts off again, i'm constantly tired, feeling down, very anxious...it's a whole lot of mess really.

I RALLY want to stop worrying, but this is probably the hardest thing I ever have to do!

I have a wild mind and imagination and cannot kick those images and thoughts off head. Worrying about myself will also not help me much either. I will still be in the same boat. It's not that it's setting me back, but I feel I'm getting this "fear" due to helping of others MAY set me back to some extent. I don't know.

Because I am a loner, I find it somewhat "mentally exhausting" to spend time with people a lot. I really can't spend a lot of time with people. and it's hard to say, back off sort of thing, yet I like helping a friend of mine, because she probably needs it more than me. I just have serious social issues, and the fact that suddenly I have to worry about other 3 people making it or not, benefiting or not, is like a huge burden.

I mean I told one of them who wanted to go swimming that weight days are weight days. I do not wait for anyone to show up. I start routine on own pace and not theirs. I don't want to sound mean, but I feel they're getting dependents on me, and that's the issue. I HATE WHEN PEOPLE BECOME DEPENDENT ON ME. I just truly hate it...and it makes me dislike people even more.

I haven't written down what bothers me, but It's all in head. I could give you a huge -list of things bothering me that will not go away until DEC 2010. ..and we're just getting out Jan...so you can imagine.

I have a weird brain.

Yes I meet them in the morning. I never oversleep. only problem is worrying about getting to uni at exactly 9:58 sort of thing. Yeah...I'm a freak like that. Even though I leave on time, and stuff...I keep worrying.

I really just want to be able to put head on the pillow and sleep like I was doing just 2 weeks ago. This whole thing started because of university, and that's how it's always is. I get worn out faster, I want to nap more...and ........

I had a similar issue, I can sleep straight but cant fall asleep soon. I tried something and it seems to work, I sleep better and wake up restful.
Have a cup of chamomile tea (has no caffine) right before going to sleep. I use the brand Celestial seasonings Sleepy Time.
