I think exercise bands can be used as weapons.

(Psst. Homeland Security--keep an eye on this girl. Me thinks she's dangerous.)

Do you *want* me to break another leg? Honestly. They also tested cast for gun powder and asked if I could take it off...
They always do that to hot chicks with broken legs. Even before 9/11. Try not to break your leg again in the future and this problem will be resolved.

Last time, I was at the airport... I was travelling with 3 guys. 1 was fiancé the other 2 were our friends. I was the only female. Now, our friends look like one of those bouncers who check people IDs before getting in to clubs. But out of us 4…. I was the one who got picked and had to “strip” me down. Made me unbutton belt and pants then take off t-shirts… Luck I had a small tank top! I mean… I already felt embarrassed being fat but dang... Stripping in the middle of the airport??? Lucky they let me kept pants on….I was only told to take off shoes and socks… The person who checked me was a female… she kept apologizing that I was picked… sigh… No wonder I haven’t travelled for awhile… :?

They can be made to mimic most cable machine motions, but at a resistance level that you will quickly outgrow.

They are pretty good for shoulder presses, curls and side laterals.

They are the single best way to work the posterior delts and rhomboids.

They are excellent for travel.

They are very cheap.

Buy em and try em.

Whichhhh could be used as a giant sling shot if you ever get the urge fling something really far. I'm thinking about using mine to throw dogs ball as I throw like an idiot and can't throw the darn thing more than a few feet. I throw it and he looks at me like "are you freaking serious?". If dogs could talk...

I think you should buy them. I recently had to buy some and found some at Wal Mart (in NO WAY am i promoting this store. I live in a very small town and this is the only store around) for $19.99.. or maybe it was $24.99. Mine came with like 4 or 5 bands of varying resistance. You can use one, two, three, or four bands at a time to increase resistance. Pretty handy when traveling or pumping up for a bb competition. Anyways if you get creative with them they really can be great. You can do things like: weighted pushups, lunges, squats, deadlifts, bench press, flys, overhead press, front raises, lateral raises, upright rows, bent over rows, glute kick backs (careful with this one because the band can roll off your foot and snap you on the butt. Doesn't feel very good. Can leave a welt if you have enough tension on there), curls... and that sling shot thing that i was talking about which might come in handy if you have a rude neighbor that you need to sling tomatoes at once in a while.

I bought mine from bodylastics and I have to say I was really happy with purchase. They have four handles and four ankle straps with metal D rings and the whole bunch of different tension bands that you can clip on in any combination to give you a wide range of resistance (5lbs to 117lbs). It also has a door anchor so you can secure it in any decent door and perform just about any exercise that a cable machine can do (lat pull downs, ab twists, cross overs, and such). I used them when I travel all the time and I can get a good workout for every part of body excepts quads. The only downside with a system like bodylastics is that it is not a cheap walmart set and it costs around $80.00. In opinion, it was definitely worth it.

You sling these like David's sling shot. 100 yard tosses are a piece of cake--and your hands stay relatively saliva-free. (I wear gloves anyway.)
