Interesting progress in fitness

Post by thrasher15 »

Have really packed on muscle the last few months. I wanted to post to share what has helped me acheive goal of toning up and adding a little muscle.....

I weight train 3 days a week covering all muscle groups over the three sessions. Cardio twice a week for 30 mins. keep pretty active outside those workouts too. 6 meals a day and around plenty of veges and around 180grams of protein.

Now I was doing similar to this previously and not getting the same results as I have the last few months. Key differences....more veges in diet, now the other key may surprise some people but it has worked for me.....

Every few weeks usually every 4-5 weeks I will take a week off workouts. I seriously believe this has helped results big time. It gives your body a break to recover and grow and when you get back into it a week later its a shock for your body which again only helps get results.

Cheers

Basically. I'd say take a week off, if you're overtraining and can tell you're going stale. I.E. more lethargic than usual, sudden downturn in sleep patterns, lifts dropping markedly, that sort of thing.

Otherwise, no need to do it. Maybe a light week every now and then perhaps, but no need to go cold turkey for a week except for the reason stated, in opinion.
