According to Gold's Gym Home Trainer the largest to smallest muscle groups are: 1.Thighs 2.Calves 3.Hamstrings
4.Mid Upper Back & Lats 5.Lower Back 6.Chest 7.Lats 8.Shoulders 9.Upper Back and Shoulders 10.Triceps 11.Biceps 12.Abdominals

That's wrong then in opinion. Calves ranked bigger than Back? I'd defy anyone to say either a Soleus or a Gastrocnemius was bigger than a Lat.

Simplify things. Big muscles

A: Quads and Hamstrings.

B: Back

C: Chest

Small muscles.

D: Arms, Delts and Calves.

As for upper body training, do Big muscles first. it might act as a prep for smaller ones, then you're not affecting big lifts, as you won't be doing them with fatigued Stabiliser and Synergiser muscles.

Thanks so much guys! I got a trainer but she only does one muscle group per session, so all these suggestions were nice so I can stay on track the days I am not with her

If you are training for power lifts 1 body part per session might make sense, but for anyone else it makes little. Muscles are all part of a system (supporting and antagonistic) and therefore should be trained as such. Studies have shown greater muscle recruitment when pecs are trained in a superset fashion with lats and faster strength and size gains. If your goal is to lose weight, I would question if your trainer is the right one for you. Full body session 3 times a week in varying high intensity circuits would cause greater weight loss especially with sprint training or other high intensity interval cardio training on alternate days.
