What's your favorite berry?

Post by Winkleman »

One of the things that i've been trying to do lately, is to eat more fruit. I'm really bad at eating fruit, and when I do, I usually skimp out and not even eat the skin. wife got me into drinking fruit smoothies, and this helps, because I get the nutrients, but don't have to actually eat it.

She's been trying to get me to eat more berries, but i'm very reluctant too. I know they're really healthy, but there is something about the texture that bothers me. Plus, some of them have little hairs growing out of it..

But, i can get them down if they are in smoothies. I have tried blueberries, blackberries, raspberries and, of course, strawberries. But this list of different kinds of berries has a few others that I've never heard of. Has anybody ever tried any of these? Bilberries? Goji Berries?

And, for the record, I'm not really interested in Acai. I've never tried them, but experience has shown me that anything that is really hyped up, is usually not that great. I'd be interested to hear people's experiences with them though.

I like blueberries and blackberries. boss has about 100 acres of land that has alot of wild blackberry bushes. I like it whenever he goes out there and picks all the berries. He picks so many, that he brings them to work for us to enjoy.

Never tried goji berries though. Frankly don't really care too, I've heard they're pretty expensive.... and locally-grown blackberries are much cheaper!

I'm like you Winkleman...can't stand the texture of berries. Stick to the smoothies if that is the only way you can stand them. I make a fruit smoothie nearly everyday using frozen fruits and I can eat blueberries if they are buried in oatmeal or sprinkled in cereal.

Of course there is always Cap'n Crunchberry! Just kidding! :D

Oh man I love berries! I think I honestly ate 3 or 4 pounds of strawberries last weekend. No self control after I get started. Atleast they were strawberries and not m&ms! Ironwill has me craving m&ms like a mad woman!
