HIIT For Fitness

Post by Skyzarrr »

I know most people won't even begin to read this due to it being named HIIT. but i was woundering if HIIT could be used for to increase your aerobic fitness so i will be able to run long distances without losing muscle or being tired so easily. I only read about it burning fat know one really talks about the fitness side.

Thanks

As I said to someoen on another thread, due to the mixture of fats and moderate Cardio sections in HIIT, you might get a reasonable balance of Slow and Fast Twitch Muscle Fibre adaption, but not prime adaption of one or the other, and as you want to be able to run long distances, you might find you wouldn't be getting as much STMF adaption as might be preferable.

If you wanted to decrease Muscle burning, you could just have something with a decent Protein and Carbs content about 30 minutes prior and do that.

So you would say just keep to the 20-30 steady state cardio?
