hey, I've just turned 15 and would like to improve strength.
I'm an active guy and play tennis and rugby. Recently I started doing crossfit but found I had to scale the weights down a lot.
I have a pull up bar, a barbell and 80kg of weights (and a bench)at home.
I was wondering first if exercises like deadlifts, squats and benchpresses are safe for a 15 year old, and assuming they are, how much is too heavy for someone age?
Most people I know have warned against them at a young age, and I don't want to risk injury.
I can do 14 consecutive pullups, bench 45kg (100 lbs0), squat 56kg (123lbs) and deadlift 65kg (145lbs). Compared to what other people seem to be lifting this doesn't seem like much, but for me it's a lot!
So basically, should I wait a year or two before starting (and keep doing pullups and pushups etc) , or is it safe now and how much should I be lifting?

I find this funny... no one has mentioned how unsafe it if for you to play rugby yet they don't want you doing a structured workout routine. If you do the exercises with proper form you won't have any injuries. As far as weight goes don't be afraid to push your self HOWEVER I would definetly recommend to find someone to supervise you ie a parent or even a friend that can help out.
