A bit of help?
Hi, i'm new to this whole thing. I'm 20 5' 5'' about 165 lb and recent former smoker of 4 years, trying to get over bad habits and build new, healthier, ones. I quit smoking about a month ago and found I was eating alot more then usual and gaining a bit of weight (small price to pay to not die of cancer one day i guess). But I wasn't happy with body any longer and decided to start working out again for the first time in like 3 years. I'm just fed up with being content with body and want to be happy with it, in and out. I know this question has been asked many many many times on this board but its just better to have it personally answered to ones self. Where do i begin? I just started running and almost up to a mile strait without stopping. Sounds pathetic i know but for lungs its a huge step forward and i'm proud of it. And i'm doing basic home exercises push ups sit ups etc etc. I think i'm about to buy a gym membership but have no clue about work out machine and the like. If anyone knows of a good broken down work out routine that would be awesome and any other advice would be much appreciated. Thanks, Josh
welcome josh. im glad you've decided to take the plunge and change your life for the better. If you want a good program to start on, google stronglifts. Its free and its a good program. You don't necessarily have to join a gym.. you can do the program if you buy a barbell, weights and a power rack. give it a try and let us know.
