Are you a runner? I need your help!!!!

Post by cherylhop27 »

Saturday I am going to do a 12k which is 7.4 miles. First of all ever since I have gotten close to the day runs have become crappy and all I think about when I am running is maybe I shouldn't have even signed up.

What I am experiencing is really tight crampy legs both of them. I have always had cramping in left leg but now right leg is doing it to and I try to run through it but when I finally stop the pain is unbearable for just a second then it's OK but I am still really sore. I have been training for this for months now and up until these last few weeks runs have been great.

What would you make of this? Is there anything I can do to relieve or help calves? I do stretch probably not enough but I do stretch some.

Thanks for any and all advice given.

Have you got a low Salt intake, or are you accounting for lost Salts from sweating perhaps?

Salt intake to a decent level could promote less cramping.

I don't keep track of salt I do sweat a lot when I run. What kind of Carbs are you talking I have to admit I really don't know how to eat for runs.

the amount of crabs you'll need will depend on your run distance for that day but generally it's bets to carb up say the night before a bit (pasta, rice, potatoes, bread etc) then after and possible during you'll need electrolytes
