A little history: I have been working out for about 6 years on and off. Off mostly because of non training injuries. I recently have realized that i am not getting the results i want anymore. Since i was 19 i have listened to friends and other ill-informed people and have worked out one muscle per day. I have been going to the gym 5 to 6 days a week doing over an hour of weight training and 30 minutes of cardio after. With this amount of work, i was expecting much more than what i was showing. For the last few weeks, i have been searching the forums looking for new routines, and i want to thank Swanso for posting great ideas and replies to questions.
I started doing full body workouts three times a week with cardio in between, with almost no isolation or extension exercises. I can not believe the amount of energy i have in the gym in respect to the intensity. If anyone stuck in the split or single muscle routines is hesitant of switching to full body... Dont be. Do it right, and you'll definitely be glad you did!!!
I have a few questions tho. I am going to a beat up gym for now, while home gym is being re done.
They do not have barbells, just smith. Anything else i can do in place of deadlift for hip? Any dumbell suggestions at all would be great for compound exercises. Also, expert opinions on kettlebells. I'm thinking about getting some for the new gym.
Thanks Again! These forums have been unbelievably helpful

At first, I'm glad for you that your training brings the result you wanna have.
But you should not adjudge the split system. I think the point is, that you have to surprise your body with something new from time to time. It is of course also good to change to a Full Body workout, but the split isn't bad
Just don't do the same program ever and ever again!

haven't used kb's before but will one day buy some adjustable ones (they're available over here in oz so they must be elsewhere as we're always the last to get new things), not sure how heavy they go though which is the prblem with them...if you get a 16kgs set then you have to buy a whole new set once you outgrow them

Thanks for the input guys. Much appreciated. Ive seen some really interesting routines using bells, but am a little hesitant using them. It seems like a good way to injure yourself if you dont use them properly. If anyone a has any info regarding this, please let me know.
Another quick q.
Im up at about 4 AM and want to get metabolism started, so i max out three sets of either chin ups or push ups before i head off to work. Is there any problem with this? Thanks again
