is burning 25%-40% more calories while walking interesting?

Post by Inventor »

I am looking for feedback on a product I am developing. I don't have any product to sell, and this genuinely is a product that I think would help a lot of people so I hope the moderators will let me solicit feedback from potential customers.

I have developed a technology that will allow people to burn 25% to 40% more calories while walking. I know this sounds crazy but if and when this becomes a product people will be saying "why didn't I think of that?"

The technology I have developed is in a product that you strap onto your feet/shoes. The 25% to 40% numbers come from VO2 testing (measuring oxygen intake) of several people while wearing the prototype I had developed by an engineering company.

I have talked to a lot of people and have found out that they want the benefits this product delivers, but they want it in shoes, not an add-on. That way they would be more comfortable and fashionable, which would allow them to get these benefits throughout signficant portions of their days, like when they work, run errands, or shop.

I've got feedback from 25 or 30 people I know, but I need a larger and more diverse sample.

If you could fill out http://www.exershoe.net/survey it would help us understand the preferences of potential customers.

Thanks in advance to anyone who fill out the survey.

how is this occurring? i can only think of adding wt to the shoe...have you looked inot the complications to the foot, ankle, knee and hips??

hey why not "sell" to people to run instead of walking then sprint instead of running??? that's mine don;t steal...

To some extent I'd agree. Unless the product was for people with severe weight problems, who can't get upto pace as of yet, I can't see much call for it.

A bit like Chocolate covered Sand. No offence intended.
