Getting an effective legs workout

Post by coledorow »

I don't have the time or money to incorporate squats and or deadlifts into every one of leg workouts. I'm generally able to once a week but it takes me convincing old football coach that I won't sue if I get hurt every single time.

Anyways, to put it bluntly, is it realistically possible to consistently get an effective legs workout without squatting or deadlifting?

If so, please just throw out any lifts, exercises, or activities that can help achieve this.

1 - no money required

2 - yes you can but they won't be as good as they could be without 1 at least 1 of them (lunges, pull throughs, step ups etc)

3 - what does you coach suggest instead of squats/deads?

What do you need money for? Do them while watching the news in the evening or morning. They don't take long. Get up 10 minutes earlier.

I mean I don't have the equipment necessary to do squats or dealifts. And don't have the money right now to get a gym membership anywhere that would just to explain.

Thanks for the lifts

Could you make a weight out of a broomstick and some water filled plastic milk jugs?

Just need a couple of free weights. Use something in place of the weights. I just use 15LB free weights. Take me just a few minutes to do 60 squats and 60 lunges 3 times a week.

Seems a little high rep for me, but with a couple 35's and maybe 30 - 40 reps when I can't make it to a gym it'd give a nice burn.
