Post by Lloyd67 »

Hi everybody I am new here and I have a question I am a baseball player and team wants me to move from 1st base to short stop. This is fine but I need to increase range from side to side. What kind of execercise should I do to increase range? Any advice would be great thanks.

Do a lot of sprints and squats. You need that explosiveness at short stop.

Kind of, you need a lot of agility and just overall explosiveness at short stop. I played the position myself throughout High School.

I recommend heavy squats for strength, plyometrics and sprinting for explosiveness.

Some agility drills probably wouldn't hurt.

What you need to do is good solid forearm exercises, and keep your arms strong. Shoulders and forearms will be the main focus but dont neglect if you are going to bulk those type of muscles. Up your agility by doing sprints and using pylons weaving and stuff.
