I have set into a regiment of cardio and low weight high rep weight lifting in an effort to lose large amounts of weight and i have a question. I am using a stationary bike for cardio to try to save knees. I am doing 35 minutes with heart rate maintained at about 155-160 on days that i lift and 45 mins 155-160 on strictly cardio days. Is this considered to be a good workout? the calorie counter says that im burning approx 170-180 calories on the 35 min days and 200-210 on the 45 min days. I just want some guidance to try to get the ball rolling and get some of this weight off. Any suggestions will be taken into consideration.
Forget it. Electronic devices are almost impossible to use as a measuring stick of burned calories.
I posted somethign about this some time back I think entitled, (so you think you burned some calories). If you can find it, it will tell you a plethera of reasons, why calorie burning monitors are nigh on impossible to trust.
so long sustained cardio isnt as effective? And im actually not taking any days off I have always been fairly active so i dont get tired easily so maybe do the intervals on the days that i lift?
ill give it a try, it just seems weird to me that the interval training would burn more then going going going, however thats probably why im out of shape. I just really want to get myself to a weight that i can be proud of
