Boredness, even with music?

Post by Andy014 »

Hello, name is Andy. Greetings to all! I'm trying to start an exercise program, with cardio and weights. Recently, I hurt back while sprinting, so I can't lift till next week. I have found that even with music I can't keep from quitting workout because of boredom.

Please! Any suggestions are helpful!

Andy

depends what music your listening to. if its classical ballroom or beethoven then that would make anyone bored!

if your getting bored youre not lifting heavy enough and probably too long.

I have that problem too with cardio. I listen to music most of the time and I make sure it's high in rhythm and energetic to keep me going. But sometimes none of this works. So, I try to do 3 different cardio exercises each for 10-15 minutes. All cardio exercises include running, stationary bike, elliptical, rowing machine, stairmaster. Switching exercises help mind and muscles get "unbored." Or if I really want to change things up a bit I'll swim 1000 meters and the next day I won't be bored anymore. Good luck. :)

x2 here. Sometimes you get bored because you lack of motivation. Try to think that you are there to enjoy the workout. Or always visualize the body transformation you want to. Or always remeber your goal why are you doing this.

Don't listen to music that's necessarily your favorite. Listen to fast tempo music or something that will give you energy.

Workout with a friend or someone who will motivate you.

It's natural to not be 100% focused on a workout program when you begin. But when you stick to it, you will never have felt better.

I do a few things...

One: Listen to some George Carlin (or any other comedian that floats your boat). Its entertaining. Just when your running it's not good to start laughing your butt off. So you gotta keep that in perspective. :P

Two: I just think "You know... I really should run just a bit further.. yeah until I get to that point. Yeah." Then when I get there go "Nahhhh lets go there!!"

Three: Just yell at myself and be blunt. "You need this cardio. Don't be a pansy and stop."

Of course... the last one is more of a motivational thing. Hahah!
