Big Butt Bitterness

Post by gaurika65 »

Hey!
So I'm a fit young girl, 5'6", weighing 125 pounds.
I'm happy with weight and overall level of fitness.
But I do have one problem: I have a big butt and fat thighs and hips.
I know that cardio is recommended, along with a controlled diet.

What I would like to know is, will this help me reduce the fat on butt, thighs and hips without building up muscle mass? All I want to do is cut out the fat from those areas, without building bulk.

Also, I'm Indian, and diet consists mainly of home-cooked Indian meals.
Can anyone help me figure out how many calories I consume according to Indian meal-standard? And in particular, how many calories should I be consuming in order to cut fat without losing weight according to height?

Please help me! I'm new at this!

For your height and as you dont want or need to lose weight, id say 2000 cals a day is reasonable.

If you do have fat and your not just built that way some good exercises are squats and lunges, deadlifts.

A full body workout should be done every workout not lots of cardio. By all means incorporate some cardio (high intensity, short periods is best) but you should be working the whole package.

Regarding calories in indian food. It depends what exactly you are eating, for instance tandori chicken has around 4 x less cals and fat then say chicken tikka masala. You may be better working this out yourself by finding out what ingredients are in the food etc.

Hey,
Thanks for all the advice.
I run for 30 minutes everyday to help tome up, but I don't know the right kinds of weight exercises to follow.
I would like to exercise using only body-weight, as I don't have free weights or access to weight machines at the moment.
Also, is it a good idea to start with lunges, squats, crunches etc. along with the cardio, to cut the fat content from butt and thighs?

There are "perceived" big butts and "actual" big butts.

A lot of people think their butts are big even when they are not.

You need to quanitify the butt size. What is your hip measurement? What is your thigh measurement?

And how do these measurements compare with other women your height?
