Cardio training...

Post by Fire_Squad5 »

Is there anything wrong by doing cardio exercise early in the morning and doing it again at night after lifting weight? How many time a week should I do cardio...I basically do sprints or do cardio at a fast pace so heart rate can be high. Thanks.

Yes, it's too much.

Unless you're doing a Bodybuilding comp, I suggest you do no more than 3 30 minute sessions, of interval, sprints etc etc, and either do it on the off days, or after a workout.

It is probably not a sustainable routine.

When I was training for mountain climbing I would run for 5 miles in the early morning, lift at lunch time and ride bicycle for 25 miles in the evening.

I would only do this for 3 months prior to the climbs as I would be over trained if I tried to sustain it.

If you have some specific reason to train that hard you can do it for a finite period of time.
