walking shoes??

Post by Hope4Life »

as i browse the board again :) ive come across some things and or how good shoes are always helpful with walking/running.

half marathon is in jan....jan 10th. at the moment the sneakers i wear when walking and working out and general use always....are the new balance brand sneakers. they are sturdier for me as well as useing inserts for body alignment. i have high arches with feet so they help with balance as well...even tho im still a bit drunk but its better on feet. anyways....ive had these for well over 10 months. question is...should i keep these same shoes to wear and use till and for the half marathon in jan? due to the fact they are very broken in or would it be better to get new ones NOW to break in and wear for the race?

Go for new ones. You should be getting ones that feel comfortable. Try getting ones that don't move about at the back, and rub the Heel, go for ones that may be referred to as a Cross Trainer, and also you need to be aware of whether you have say a Pronated or Supinated running style, which means if you Pronate your foot is likely to move more inwards, as opposed to Supinated where it moves outwards.

Although it's entirely possible your Feet don't do that at all.

Also make sure you don't tie your laces too much, incase you restrict things like Bloodvessels and Nerves a bit, as it might be painful, which coudl be an easy thing to do, if what you buy have very long laces.

So you might be as well, to make sure you go jogging a bit around the store, to make sure they feel okay, as you may find you cannot get the feel too well just strolling.
