what can I try instead of running..i absolutely hate it with a passion! i have weakish knees from playing netball as a kid. I really want to lose 2 inches from waist and 4 from hips. biggest problem hips, tummy and inner thighs and extra weight on arms. I really would like to tone body all over and be healthy and even more lively. I think is really the most important thing to me. please help I really mainly need exercise ideas for someone who doesn't live near a gym. p.s I'm modeling but i am not confident in how toned I am.
I'd also recommend a stretching program or martial art form like Tai Chi. These will help posture and work on your flow or form in your everyday movements. Posture is very important, especially in modelling. With proper posture our bodies look better and healthier.
I used to model, and I hear ya about those extra inches.
It doesn't matter how great your posture is or how flexible you are, only that you fit into the designers clothes. Showing up to a fitting and not being able to get the pants on over your butt is horrid. I know that feeling!
Here is what you can try to get your inches down. Drink lots of water so you are not going to be bloated from water retention. Also cut back as much sodium as possible. When I was modeling I at oatmeal plain for breakfast, chicken, rice and veggies for lunch and dinner (again so butter, salt, etc) This really slimmed me down and I lost enough to get to goal inches in hips. It also help flatten out the pooch under the button.
I am a personal trainer in the Vancouver area, so if you would like more advice from someone who has been there. Feel free to send me a message. Good luck to you.
