can you sabotage a salad

Post by tishb »

I know this a weird question. Is it possible to make an unhealthy salad? I normally put baby spinach tomatoes mushrooms olives carrots peas banana peppers grilled chickens balamic vinegar and sun dried tomatoe vinegiarette. Is this ok? The salad weighs about 1lb.

Any green vegetable really, you can put vinegar on it, certain oils also have healthy fats and you can put those on but 99.999% of things you put on a salad are not healthy. You ever look at the back of a ranch bottle? Blah.

Absolutely can! Yours looks good though minus the olives. Stay away from the creamy and oily salad dressings, creamy sides like potato and mac salad they usually have on salad bars, and shredded cheeses. I use balsamic vinegar without any oil, or mix it with flax seed oil which contains healthy omega 3's.

By adding croutons you are messing up the whole point of eating a salad, also by adding fried meat to it. I have seen people do it...

I like that comment about friend meat, although I would think the fried meat obviously would be deep fried, or possibly fried in refined Breadcrumb coating, because if the meat like Chicken for example, had been fried in someting like Coconut Oil, I could actually see that as a viable thing, not an issue.

I would say the friend meat thing is a good example, I suppose it depends on the preparation method though. In some ways good, other ways bad.

olives are actually really good for you - you do need some fat in your deit and it is high in mono sat fat - the good kind

i like vinaigrette dressing too - just find a fat free one - hard to find sometimes and some really suck so just try a few until you find one you like
