Including pasta in diet

Post by Canadaisbetter »

Heya, name's Geoff and this is first post w00t. Little background, Im 155lbs, 6foot, so definatly alot of weight gaining to do. I've been working out consistantly for the past month, 3-4 days a week following a 10x3 set method at 80% max. Anyways, pastas are one of favourite foods, and I know they are going to be cut down, but I was wondering...in small portions...when would be the best time of the day to have pasta. Considering i have roughly 4-5 meals a day, and I workout between the 3rd-4th meal.

I've got a fair amount of weight lifting experience just because thats all friends do lol, but i never seriously started until about a month ago but I really need help with proper dieting, along with eating much more to gain the weight i need.

first meal for now consists of 2 eggs or cereal, or oatmeal with a banana
Second with probably be something like a tuna/salmon sandwich, maybe a salad along with that.
Third would be a chicken/turkey/tuna/etc sandwich with some cut of veggies, slice of low fat cheese. or a small portion of a chunky soup.
Fourth (after workout) usually have a protein shake, any other suggestions are welcome this is just what i've been doing recently.
Fifth and final meal would use a portion of chicken/turkey breast or beef/pork along with salad/rice or diced veggies

I have almonds that I munch on throughout the day to fill in the gaps if I feel extra hungry, dont know if thats ok or not but im not having alot of them anyway.

Go with whole wheat/whole grain pastas instead of white. Lean more toward complex carbohydrates.

After or before workout for pasta is good. I prefer brown rice pasta personally. You can get it that only contains brown rice, or soemtimes brown rice and rice bran. It's real natural, low processing, and tastes great.
