Please don't take this the wrong way, but in your profile there is another picture which looks like you, and you're carrying a baby.

If the baby is yours, it's possible any agencies might look negatively on teenage mothers, or possibly think stretch marks could be an issue regards what work you could do.

I don't know this is a certainty, but I know the industry can be very harsh on the individual, and it wouldn't surprise me if some agencies did operate this way.

Personally if the baby is yours, (and I'm certainly not asking to know, as it's not place or right), then I am sure no matter what, the little one will be loved, and given as much human attention and nurturing as a child should get, and the whys and wherefores of the situation is again not might right or place to ask about so I won't. You're a young Lady, of course I must and will respect your privacy :).

As for your original question. I think you could potentially be a model, but I'm not entirely sure why you would want to be, as you haven't said.

If you feel you want to enlighten us further, as to the reasons why you may want to be a model, or why you have potentially chosen this as a life path, please do.

If you don't want to say why that's okay too.

Take care :).

Well you weigh 167, so maybe around 20-25lbs.

I'm just wondering though as you haven't said, why you want to be a model. You don't have to say, of course I'll respect that, and I'm certainly not going to get preachy and start giving you a zillion reasons why you shouldn't or anything like that :).

well you still can but it will take some work...i'm not sure about the age type of thing they go for but most models are very young and probably by the time you get into that shape, pay your dues and get noticed it may be too late

that doesn't mean you can't look like one though...what have you done before? what equipment do you have? what do you eat etc? be detailed

I'm a model. People of all shapes and sizes can become model. Scars, tattoos, stretch marks, doesn't matter. It just depends on what type of model you want to be.

If you want to be a runway fasion model or on the cover of popular magazines, you would need to be very tall and thin (fashion models are very rarely under 5'8", excpet for petite models, which are rare).

There are so many other types of modeling to consider. There's artistic, promotional, photographers updating their portfolios, etc. The list goes on.

I would NOT recommend starting with an agency. You want to have a portfolio already so you can make an impression. This is what I did. I wondered if I could be a model. So, I put a profile up on modelmayhem.com. That's the most popular site for people to use to find models. I started out getting TFP offers (this means time for prints. A photographer wants to gain experience or expand his portfolio, so he does a shoot with you. Your payment is a copy of all the shots for your portfolio). Once you have some experience you can decide to charge an hourly rate for your modeling services. I did a few TFP shoots, not I charge a minimum of $50 an hour. There are other sites out there you can use as well, such a onemodelplace.com and holleywoodnorth.com, but they get a lot less traffic than model mayhem.

I've been modeling for a while now and I've actually made some decent money. I'm short, so I'll never be a fashion model but I do really well for artistic stuff and pin up girl type stuff.

If you do this you have to decide what your limits are. Some photographers will ask you that in your first email. That means will you do no nude, implied nude only (looks like you're about to put shirt off, etc), topless only, full nudes, etc.

Sites like model mayhem also have an area where you can search for casting calls in your area. Some photographers prefer to find models they like the looks of and contact them directly, others will just put up a casting call and wait for models to contact them.

If you are seriously thinking of doing this, i would be happy to help you out with anything you need advice on. Don't be afraid that you're not thin enough or not anything because there are ALL types of models! Take a look at various profiles on modelmayhem. Theya re short, tall, underweight, overweight, short hair, long hair, cutsey look, goth look, you name it.

You can potentially do what you want, but you have to remember it's a cut throat business, and even if you make it, you might end up being nothing more than a Hand Model, or appearing on some sort of calender.

Next step probably catalogue stuff, then peryaps shoots, and possibly catwalk stuff, at the best end of the scale.

You don't need to feel awkward about your ambition, it's okay to have an ambition and a goal, but I would say, what is there else that you might wish to do, if things don't happen like you wish?

Office work? Nurse? Personal trainer etc etc.

See, I've not found it to be cut throat at all. There are a lot of photographers out there looking. Applying to an agency and getting in is hard, and fashion modeling may be cut throat, but there really are a lot of opportunities out there.

Just don't count on it being your full time job. You can do some modeling and make some money at it, but there are only a select few who make it to be full time models.

Before Bossman or anyone helps you out with an exercise program and diet we would need to know more about what your doing for exercise now and how you're eating.
